To be fair I've only built one of the really big Lego sets, which was the Tower Bridge
I really didnt enjoy it, because it just took far too long finding the pieces to put everything together, not to mention it was a very repetitive build. Probably would have saved myself the aggravation had I stuck to only opening the numbered bags when necessary, rather than tipping every single piece out and hunting through it.
Anyone watch the Lego Masters series? I’ve found the American and Australian versions far superior to the UK version, the things they make on there are truly mind blowing. My 3 year old daughter loves making things with the giant Lego designed for toddlers, I’m looking forward to her advancing into the real stuff so we can build things together as she gets older.
Duplo is great, we found some marble runs with the same shape bricks and added them into creations. Our littlen has just moved onto 'normal' sized lego. He's 4 next week and only took a few weeks to get to grips with the change in size. The bonus, is that you can buy 4x the bricks and they still take up less space !
He got this set at Xmas and has no problems following the instructions on his own to make the figures, it's definitely a good starter set.

Mick E tweeted that the museum are looking to buy the Valley Lego model, but it's going to be expensive. I've suggested to Mick that we have a GoFundme campaign for whoever wants to chip in and help. Not sure what @killerjerrylee@SE7toSG3@Henry Irving think but it would be a shame for this model not to be preserved at the Valley
I've only ever bought them, apart from a couple for AAjr's birthday, as an investment. New, kept for a while then sold without every opening, used, do it to check all the pieces, then sell it E.g., the UCS Star Destroyer, which I bought opened, I completed then sold for 50% more than a bought it, a couple of months after I got it. Over the past three or four years, the franchise sets have been a better investment than fine wine or whisk(e)y, particularly if you got them in a sale when they were being phased out, and the more expensive the better.
As mentioned by the OP, I do find building them relaxing and strangely therapeutic. I worked for Mercedes-Benz for 13 years so when Lego Technics released these two models in cooperation with MB I was in. Motorized and with fully functioning hydraulics!
Just realised I never posted the proof that I finished Titanic. Fitted nicely on the window cill as well. Was actually quite an easy build. Just took a long time.

What a great watch, thank you for sharing. Great name of the designer too, no relation to George I’m assuming. Wonder how many will sell, assuming they will be produced for sale?
Never got on with Lego as a kid, but took my Grandson to a Lego outing at the local village hall. He soon got bored, but I found it great but annoyingly couldn't find all the parts to finish my helicopter.

I missed the post changing to Clem's post and thought no way has a four year old built that
Anyway, someone looks about to score. What happened next?
