His shit move on0

Valiantphil said:He scored one of his trademark goals for Fleetwood today. That suggests to me that he wasn’t trying an inch during his final months with us.
He also somehow missed a massive chance in the first half at nil nil.

Honestly I genuinely hope it does work out for him. Yes his form and performances in his last season here dropped off a cliff but before that he was very effective in his own limited way and as a person he came across well and seemed popular with the other players.
I won't miss him but I won't be holding any grudges either.12 -
Until he gets a hat trick on Saturday?0

He was never carrying an injury.0
-
Taking part in full training and starting every game (2 in a week) up to when we found an alternative, clearly shows that he was not carrying an injury.0

Is he allowed to play on Sat?0

On Social media it only takes one person to say a comment and then it becomes Gospel by the time the 20th person has joined in.
I said straight away, other than the normal ache and pains every Central striker has from going to war every match with 6ft CB, Jordan Stockley lost form and confidence because he prefers to play in a 2 up front.
No surprise to me (I had spoken to him away from a football environment) that his first words upon arriving at Fleetwood were"It was a no brainer as I could play alongside Jack Marriott."
Marriott crossed and Jayden scores on his debut with his feet in a scrabbled goal.
Of course he will miss chances but at Fleetwood it will suit his game.
Under Adkins, Garner and Holden it didn't suit his game. JJ more so because Washington was put nearer to him in a 2.
Both Conor and Jayden scored and missed chances because their standard is League 1.
Clive Mendonca, Darren Bent or Shaun Bartlett they aren't!3 -

Really pleased to hear "His shit move on" as Constipation is shocking !1 -
1 in 9 for Fleetwood, so it wasn't just a formation based blip this season.
Still, his replacement has much worse stats and work rate, despite Stockley looking a bit half hearted this season.4 -
Jayden was put on the bench after a couple of games at Fleetwood, and this has been a shocker of a season after his 20 goals in all competitions last season and also that included a period out injured.
Lost his edge big time.

It certainly ends the idea that the problem was us not playing to his strengths. He no longer has any.0 -
Good bloke. Hope he can find his form again after a summer of rest.14

Agree, a club like Fleetwood would hardly pay a fee and decent wages on somebody who has an ongoing back injury.
They're not in it as a charity to the almighty giants, named Charlton!1 - Sponsored links:

Quote from physio in 442 magazine: “The player’s skeletal range of movement – that's joints, key muscles, fitness and any possible weak spots – will be assessed. I’m especially keen on checking the pelvis as it’s such a key area for both upper and lower-body mobility, strength and injury prevention. The player’s position will influence the medical too – goalkeepers, for example, will have a check on shoulders, elbows, wrists and, of course, hands. If anything needs further investigation we’ll book a scan and get a more thorough assessment."1 -

I do have some insider information on a 17 year old who signed for Brentford on a short contract last month. He had to have two medicals and possibly because the lad broke his leg when he was 12 it was so strenuous that he said he felt like a gymnast with some of the exercises and tests he had to do.
I believe at Charlton they just hold your nuts and you cough.21 -

I guess Stockley's back issue is akin to players after injury, losing a yard of pace. It's not a current injury, and won't stop them playing, but means they're no longer as effective as they used to be.1

You could be right Chunes, rumours can become gospel quickly when repeated often enough.
One CL poster said Ronnie Schwartz looked sad in a picture; by the 10th post he had bi-polar !
Being 6ft 4in and a Central striker that goes to war every week, Jayden did have a back issue last season which kept him out but when he returned to the side for the latter part of the season he still got into goal scoring positions but he just didn't score as many.
This Season, Stockley never had pace to lose but it seemed that after coming deeper to try to win the ball under Garnerball he couldn't then get up to the penalty area quick enough as the wide players in the 3 up front, JRS and CBT were already far ahead of him.
It was obvious that Stockley has been best in a two up front under JJ but has struggled in a 4-3-3 or similar when he doesn't have a partner. In the rare occasions we went with a two he still couldn't convert.
Leaburn has more about his game as he develops and can help CBT, Kanu, Campbell as we need the player to run in behind to test the deep defenders.

Even getting 20 goals last season, he didn't seem the same player we had for the second half of the season before. In that loan spell he was utterly commanding in the air, to the point the Sunderland centre backs gave up trying to win the first ball.
Last season even in the air he wasn't as dominating.2 -
His beast mode (in the air) had gone and turned to moan mode.0

Only 13 goals in the league last season, albeit 13 in 33 which isn’t bad. Goals in the Papa John’s and up and Gateshead give a gloss to the 22 from last season that I feel flattered him.
I had high hopes after he signed but I ended up thinking his season this season and some of his performances are probably up there with the worst we’ve seen in a Charlton shirt and that’s not an extreme statement. He was absolute toilet for us this season.
Only he can know if his back injury his hampering him. Fleetwood have been absolutely sold a lame duck. I expect they’ll take the view to give him the summer to get fit and if not, expect to see him on loan at Barrow or Carlisle from next Jan
