Will you still buy a Season Ticket if Sandgaard is still in control ?

  • Sandgaard won’t be in charge, so the question is moot. I expect it will be…

    It’s another cryptic clue!

One of the ‘3 billionaires’ is the owner of the Miami Dolphins, by jingo Claude, I’ve cracked it!
  • As the song goes….

    Charlton till I die
    Im Charlton till I die
    I know I am, I’m sure I am
    Im Charlton till I die.

Yes - but probably won’t enjoy it
  • I want to continue buying one, had one for 40+ years but boy do they test my resolve. Nights like Old Trafford make it feel worthwhile and my kids still enjoy going down the Valley

Cost is definitely becoming more of an issue and I feel like once (if) I gave up my ST that would be it and I wouldn't go anymore - no way would I pay per game or pick and choose my games, I just wouldn't go anymore.

At the moment I'm still planning on renewing
  • Might renew. Not enjoying watching us play at present - all feels very flat.

  • Assuming prices don’t change massively then at the average price of £131 my tickets cost yes I will.
I almost worry more if we are owned by a small time Texas bunch trying to further slash costs to flip the club for a quick profit as that just looks like pure madness to me.
  • Yeah, my support isn’t contingent on whomever happens to own the club at the time.

Yes at the moment. Depending on different factors around work as I work most weekends but have got very lucky with many days off falling on home games and have taken days off for home games.

Also because a friend of mine who was an Arsenal fan from Muswell Hill has pretty much become a Charlton fan and has been coming to loads of home games since the Ipswich home win in 2021.

He's really loved it down here with the down to earth atmosphere and day out and Plumstead Radical Club beforehand and become immersed in it all.

Funny he first came to the game with the free ticket with season ticket holder game. What it does show is there are people out there, and it could be achieved with proper management and leadership from owners, not scattergun approaches, giving whole blocks away every game and saying staff are negative for not thinking we can fill the valley in league 1.
  • Assuming  a similar price, I'd buy a another OAP ticket for East Stand. This year it was reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend my adult son to buy one because I guess that there will be more season ticket holders offers of free tickets so I'll get him in for nothing, plus he occasionally misses games for family reasons. So 2ST will go to 1ST.
  • Its a yes from me, as others have said, support the team through thin and thin!

The day Keohane/sandgaard leave the building irrespective of any new owner, I will buy one.
I take everyone at face value, it’s up to them to f**k that up.
I've been pleasantly surprised by the answers here. I thought there would be a lot of "no because we're midtable League One Shit" or "No Sandgaard is a guitar wanker." Both are true. But I'm not convinced that either are boycott-level.

I was deeply disappointed by the end of the day yesterday. But I think that's because the Sandgaards et al are bad at this, not necessarily bad faith actors or trying to sell everything (Leaburn, Dobbo, AMB, Mitchell, Henry, etc. are all still here).

But that brings us to TCE's point. He has posted at length about his experience with members of staff and ownership at the club, and how employees are treated. That is what would give me, personally, the most pause. Seeing what happened with Olly, and also recognizing the "cost cutting" American Business style practices that TS is undertaking makes me know that it must be a shit place to work. I would have a very hard time giving money to that business.

Only last night I was chatting to a former member of staff about a her leaving interview with RM (who never worked for the club and was purely an advisor)
    these are her comments below.
As you can read, they/she will agree and sympathise but do FA,

Yeah she did literally told her everything. TK had done over the years and she was like ong he sounds like a possessive boyfriend…. That’s not acceptable then nothing

  • Yes I would renew, I've had the same seat for 26yrs- don't want to give it up just yet.
  • 100% yes. Does it get me down? Yes, but I live in hope, even when, as now, there appears to be none.
  • YES ….
  • Yes. I boycotted a season under Duchatelet and don't think it made a real difference other than me missing something I love.

Will retain a season ticket as long as I can.

Fuck the owners the player, manager and club need our support otherwise it goes the way of Wimbledon.

  • Ok, I think there some great responses here with merits for yes or no. If Airman is right and Sandgaard is gone then it probably, or indeed hopefully, matters to the new owners that us waverers need to be convinced to renew, as usual we can only wait and see.
  • Stopped getting ST a couple of seasons into Roland's reign and boycotted all games (only making a glory hunting appearance at Wembley). Started attending the odd game when TS took over but still wouldn't commit, but then my son (who was 20 at the time) started to finally get into football during the euros, so I decided to heap my burden upon him and turn him into an addick and we've had ST's since.

He still curses me for not being an Arsenal fan.

  • IIRC they never found out who this lad is - I still have my red version of that hat - I also had one which was half Charlton and half Dundee Utd (don’t ask 🤦🏻)

    Am I correct @PragueAddick ?
  • I'd like to add that if my son wasn't coming with me, I definitely wouldn't be buying a ST then or now. It's more about spending time with him having a beer and chatting football
  • Certainly not.

I'm only willing to put money into the club to keep it going if we're playing decent sized clubs and get to play the likes of Man U in cups more often.

I don't wish to be watching the likes of Fleetwood & Accrington Stanley & think my club is better served moaning on CL about why we aren't higher up the football league and playing those clubs with bigger attendances than us  :)

So what are decent sized clubs. I would have thought Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesdsy, Derby are decent sized clubs.
If playing Man U is what is important. Then you would go to any prem Club to do so.
No supporting a club is seeing it through thick and thin and thinner if need be and thst includes spending money on the club.
  • 100% YES, keep the faith!

Compared to The SPIV's, Douchebag & Nightmare, Mouthall & ESI.  Skintguard looks honest! a bit of a dick but an honest dick! Who's next?

  • No.
I am a season ticket holder at present, but living 170 miles away and soon to be 76 years old, i really do not have the inclination or burning desire to go and watch the dross that has been seved up this season. If Banjo boy does not have the desire why should I?
If there were to be new owners I will need a lot of convincing to renew, I have been let down so many times.

    Exactly, sorry I whooshed you.
    I've had a S/T since 1972 & probably always will.
  • 100% yes. Not going is just cutting my nose to spite my face. Can't imagine not going
  • We'll sell between 6-7k
I thought that was what it is now

  • I long stopped going to the Valley for the football.  I go because it is a social occasion with friends and family and I get to go for a beer at lunch time.  I stopped the season ticket for a year under Duchatelet and ended up spending more on going anyway...
