We look more dangerous when Leaburn is on the pitch compared to Bonne. Leaburn is just a better all round player. I'm confused by Holden's preference of Bonne.

If we are going to have our front man as isolated as they were I’d rather start with Leaburn because obviously he has a bit more physicality than Bonne.
But that being said, he’s not done any worse or better in the last two matches when he has come on as sub.
Considering Holden has won 4 of the last 5 games with what people often like to say is our worst squad ever, at the moment I’m inclined to trust his judgement.
The two through balls for our goals were excellent, and good to hear that that’s something we’ve been working on. Our build up play has been too safe and predictable for much of the season, so long may it continue. Interesting that the wide men were the recipients, as so often our main tactic has been to get the ball wide in the hope of getting crosses in. 👍 PS I know that there are always more posts after home matches, but it seems to be even more the case after this one. I agree it’s partly because we’re looking set for a mid table finish now, so we’re less ‘panic stations’.
Our two goals were both flowing accurate passing and finishing football, pity the rest of it was not. Our passing out of defence was poor, this includes M-B who needs to improve his passing by foot or hand, at one point in the 2nd half after an Exeter corner B-T was unmarked on the half way line and M-B could have made an early pass before he was impeded by an opposition player. We seemed better and more lively when Leaburn replaced Bonne, I can't really see the purpose of Bonne, he runs about a lot and harries defenders but doesn't really achieve anything. For me the standout players were Ness, Kilkenny and M-B for his shot stopping.
A word about Exeter - a friendly and helpful group of stewards and staff with the latter enabling me to have a disabled parking place right by the away entrance. If this is what a community owned club is all about then more of it please.

Iv got a feeling holden is giving leaburn abit of a rest even with him doing well so far this season he has been slightly over used and played especially being brought back in so soon from injury due to a lack of options with aneke out and stockley so bad we forget his age and that he is still learning his trade
Yeah, in amongst all the reams of posts looking for who to blame....crosses will always come into the box, they won't always be volleyed into the top corner though
I think he’ll continue to start Bonne as he has more experience and nous but does need a goal. We saw against Barnsley that Leaburn is still very raw and inexperienced against the more ‘combative’ centre halves. The Barnsley CBs targeted him, wound him up and bullied him a bit. He certainly has the size and the athleticism but needs to be looked after a bit rather than leading the line week in week out. He is probably better off being used as an impact sub at the moment.

And while he wasn't directly involved in our 2 goals, his movement will have helped create the spaces for the goalscorer. JRS for example was left unmarked for his brilliant goal.

More people would have watched home game against Bolton than traveled to Exeter. Also not everyone can catch charlton tv.
I did not watch any part of Exeter match so can not comment on the football it’s self.
Short drive down from Bristol for myself and my daughter for what was her second Charlton game and she really enjoyed it.
highlights for me were seeing a left back being comfortable in that position and Kilkenny who actually looked on the pace despite few minutes this year.
We defended what seemed like a huge amount on corners for them, fairly solidly. We won though but Exeter will think they deserved a point for sure.

Exactly & we've got midweek games coming up as well.
It was one of those games where if the team defends a lead they deserve to win & if they let in another goal or two they deserve to draw or lose.
We held on so deserved it. Everyone played well, Ness & AMB were the top 2.
Kilkenny is a definite upgrade on Morgan and played well on debut.
I'd rather have Kilkenny, Bonne & Penney in the team/squad than not, so on that basis I believe we are better in quality if not numbers after the transfer window and we need better quality.
Far fewer posts after this game than the Bolton one.
No one should be surprised by that. Social media is a platform for the critic as much for any praise. The Bolton game was on Sky and had a wider audience so the normal critics on CL and twitter were in their element because we were battered by an attack minded Bolton despite never throwing the towel in and only losing 2-1 unlike last season under Nigel Adkins when Bolton went for the jugular at 1-1 and we lost 4-1 with 3 late goals to Iain Evatt side who smell blood and go for the kill.
Cafc are far off that and we still hang on but under Dean Holden our spirit is better in my opinion; I hope others agree ?
We are a mid table team, 12th at moment but at least Holden has turned as into a mid table team rather than a team heading towards the drop zone.
James, the critic's will all be back after the Sheffield Wednesday game I would imagine as they look a class above us at present. 24 points ahead after 28 games to be precise.

Great to see Dean chatting with fans on the train as well on the way back to London. 👏👏

JRS's finish was quite something. Inc Dobbo's pinpoint ball.

He really 'gets' the connection between the club & the fans
