Yep. Our recruitment has been generally poor for quite some time.

Steve Gallen still in his role as head of recruitment .. Holden mentioned him when he was talking about sitting down with Peter Storrie and SG to discuss plans for next season

Thought SG was just the negotiations man now Team Sangaard were in charge

But if you are forced to buy in the going out of date, shop clearance reduced section you aren't going to have a great choice.
In L1 terms he had a very decent budget when Sandgaard first appeared. Lavelle, Kirk, Aneke, Fraser, DJ, Stockley were all big budget signings for L1.  With the exception of Fraser they are all unbelievably poor signings.

It’s obviously not all Steve Gallens fault but it is partly. I won’t be heartbroken if a new ownership has a completely different scouting and recruitment team put in place.

I guess the ability of Gallen will be answered in his next (personal) move.

Gallen gets a free ride from alot of people on here imo. He had a decent budget last year and look what we signed many of them we had apparently been after before TS arrived. Any signing that turns out shite it's down to MS any that look ok SG gets the nod from most on here.

We were better off when we had that kid sitting in his bedroom scouting players

He did confirm that in the interview late last year. Martin Sandgaard and other scouts identify the players, Steve Gallen then talks to them about contracts and terms. And if all agree it goes before Thomas to write out the cheque

He’s lived off the Bielik Cullen Taylor season and the rest has been a crock of complete shit
I'd be happy to see a new recruitment team come in as part of the takeover. Some will defend Gallen but presumably he agreed signings like Lavelle, DJ, Aneke, Kirk etc.

TS didn't provide the biggest budget in the league but so much more could and should have been achieved with what he provided.
All 4 will be back in the summer. It will be like having 4 new signings!
    And McGrandles.

That may be the basic structure but I doubt his role is that limited. Gallen said he'd been to see Lavelle numerous times before signing him.

    That is all so depressing.

Kirk got taken off at half time yesterday for Burton; Lavelle didn't even make their 18; McGrandles lasted for an hour for Cambridge- a team who look like going down - before he was taken off; and DJ is of course injured .

What joy to get those 4 back.

Funny how he was good before ego and son of ego took over .

Will we really ever know just how much SG was in control of WHO we signed under TS and son ?
Was it a question of being given a list of crap players by MS to choose the least crap for the least cost ?
Perhaps we will find out once TS has actually gone.

Careful or you'll get Driesen back to claim he was only good when Driesen also had an input  ;)

At one point it was said all four of them (SG, TS, MS and the manager) had to agree.

The only good signing we have made in the last 2 years is Rak-Sakyi…..& that was down to Dougie Freedman doing us a favour. Gallen openly admitted that he didn’t know about him until Dougie said ‘this is the guy you want’.

Rounds up how shite & inadequate our recruitment dept is.

When? He stopped being 'good' before TS took over.

Do not hold your breath, TS and MS could be staying for a while, if they have their way 😭
