    You might be able to drop a Grealish or Maddison in there in some of the easier games but when push comes to shove I want Phillips and Rice in the team.  Unless we magically produce a world class center half in the next 18 months.
    This is it. I think GS likes Stones and Maguire as ball playing CBs but he doesn’t trust them enough defensively. Especially when our full backs play high. It’s the sensible option.
    I think Stones playing is a no brainer but with Maguire I think it's more of a case of is there anyone obviously better?  If not your making a change for changes sake.

    We do need someone else to come along and take that position before the world cup IMO.
