It’s a happy Valley this afternoon as Charlton hit Shrewsbury Town for six (and keep a rare clean sheet)! Fraser opened the scoring on 26 minutes with a peach of a free kick that he tucked neatly into the top corner. Five more goals followed, with Morgan, Rak-Sakyi, Leaburn (x2), and Bonne finding the back of the net. Not much more needs to be said. This doesn’t happen everyday, and I know for most it’s a thoroughly uncomfortable feeling(!), but do try and enjoy it!!!

Need to tie Morgan down
Reds yessssssssssssss
Noticed it as well from a Louis Mendez tweet during the game, when he said that days like this, make performances like the 1-0 loss against Cheltenham even more frustrating.
This group of players KNOW they can go out and there and put in performances like that, we're five (?) undefeated now - But we've had to endure Golfie during the Match, through no fault of his own, bemoaning the fact that we're competing with Fleetwood and Exeter for mid-table which to be fair to him is the truth of this campaign.
Feels like the sort of typical match where everyone is putting in an effort for a new Contract, and then we risk going back to the norm next season with pointless soundbite interviews saying: "We knew last season wasnt good enough, we'll put it right again this coming year" - Well we got that last summer and for the most part its been much the same again... The likes of Morgan | Thomas | Clare (before he was subbed) were outstanding today, and put in a proper League One display... But can you honestly trust them to do it over a full season, and not be back in this exact situation again in a years time.
Apologies for going on a rant... Leaburn was f**king outstanding... the whole team were and they do deserve to enjoy this 6-0 win - Just equally feels a small kick in the bollocks too
Lisbie in the studio talking about it - has me thinking back, it’s a near copy of his hat-trick goal against Liverpool back in 03 ish
Ratings belong to a 1-0.
We lost 0-3.
Just 3 points behind them with a now far superior goal difference.
Don't get me wrong, superb performance all over the pitch, well done lads but WE have spent too many post matches wondering why this lot cannot put a shift in, in this God forsaken pony league over the years.
Maybe Holden is the man, maybe this is a turning point in our fortunes, I dunno? Just happy tonight.
Up the Addicks!
Was 6-2 Saints in 76 the last six? Then the Swansea 6-0 and Nott's County 6-1 before that.
I was a young Turk back then, this year I' m 70.
Don't make me wait that long again boys!
What was I saying, time passing in a blink of an eye?
Try telling that to the kids of today - and they won't believe you.
He's obviously told them what he's planning to do next season and told them to prove to him they want to be included in his plans.
And that doesn't just apply to the players out of contract.
He proved by moving Stockley out that if players are not doing it he'll jog them on.
What happened?? Same players, same formation but everyone was on it and the midfield in particular were excellent. Thomas had a very good game at left back as well.
In a season that will largely remembered for the wrong reasons, it’s great to have a game like that to enjoy.
