I know the players are going to Malaga, but are we actually playing Malaga, if so anyone on here been to Malaga?
What’s it like, a bit of a lads holiday, or a sophisticated, cultured, elegant kinda place?
Both. Beautiful city centre with lots of history. Made for a very decent day-trip when I was on holiday in Granada a few years ago. But the surrounding towns tend to be over-developed tourist places which people go to for the beach and the beer, so there's lots of facilities in town for that sort of trip if you prefer. There are loads of stunning places a reasonable train-ride from Malaga, if scenery, history or architecture are your thing - Cordoba & Granada are the big ones, about an hour or so, or Seville's a bit further.
Can only do 2-3 nights as things stand, so will await the pre-season game date and time, alongside when the open training session will be. Anything else of beauty, culture or cuisine will be a bonus.

Wish they’d hurry up & release some details on this. I’m at the Blur/Weller gig on the Sunday, but would like to fly out on the Monday. Just the venue for now would help, so we can work out the area to stay & can book accommodation.
The issue here maybe related to who is going to pay for this trip?!
Cant see TS covering staff/players flights and accommodation for this when he plans to exit soon & new owners are also unlikely to fund it until a deal is done.
Hope they release who the "big name" is soon, reckon we'll play someone like Brentford or Wolves at home
I am surprised they have not announced more of the pre-season games. We have got an away game on Tuesday 25th July. Mostly all others have been booked. Still think they are sorting the home friendly out as we aren’t playing the first club we agreed to play.
Genuinely amazed that people are interested in watching training sessions in Spain......if I wanted to watch a load of donkeys wandering around aimlessly I'd probably head for Clacton!
Just had a response from the club re the Spain trip. The training session is on Thursday 13th July at the Marbella Football Center, followed by a player Q&A. There’ll be a friendly the following day (K.O. 11am), with opposition to be confirmed later this week and the venue closer to the date itself.
The game, which is open to supporters, will take place in the Malaga region on Friday, July 14th (11am KO CEST, 10am KO BST) – the exact venue for the game will be announced in due course.
The club intends to stream the game live on CharltonTV and further streaming information will be confirmed in advance of the match.

We'll get to watch Albie Morgan and Darren Prately run rings around our midfield! :wink
"Manager Dean Holden has encouraged supporters to join the Addicks in Spain and, as well as the game, fans will be able to attend a training session on Thursday, July 13th at Marbella Football Center in the Malaga region.
Supporters looking to attend the training session should register their interest by emailing website@cafc.co.uk."

The game in Spain could be a sellout, I’m sure Charlton fans will be out in unison to wish Macauley Bonne, a fond farewell, seeing as he never got one, from the valley faithful.

More family aimed resorts.
Torremilos perhaps a little more lively.
