I bet there will still be a few people advocating for Inniss, Morgan, Thomas etc for their contracts to be renewed as squad players.  It’s what we do

What a joke this squad are. Mentally weak, rarely fully committed and lacking leaders (as Curbs called out at half time). The Summer cull has to be be heavy. There are lots of players we cannot afford to start with in August.
That's all well & good but where is the money going to come from? It's not like we will be able to offload this lot easy
Plus we need to have a decent manager in as well Holden isn't doing enough to get these players motivated or playing good enough
  • Some of our passing was just unbelievably bad. The number of times we gave it away under no pressure through stupid or lazy passes. Henry the worst culprit, but also Thomas several times along with Morgan, Dobson etc. In general the amount of unforced errors just unforgiveable from professionals. Sick of the lot of them really...

All those who are out of contract can be let go. We are paying decent League 1 wages so should expect better replacements. We will be able to sell a few contracted players for small fees but we will need investment if we are to have any chance of getting out of League One. Agree re Holden but he can only play with what he's got. I suspect he would like to let rip over some of them but has to be professional. Let's see who survives the Summer.

Morgan was one of our best players today, Thomas was better than Hector today.

Every single one of them should be truly embarrassed. I know I am
  • Attitude stunk today. Too many times we made individual errors and just watched as Morecambe strolled through to create chance after chance. Today was an embarrassment and disrespectful to every club fighting for relegation to put that limp performance in.

Clueless, shocking, pathetic, poor, leaderless, no idea, …and that’s just the officials! As for CAFC. Please let this nightmare of a season be over, I can’t bear anymore!!! Please please make it stop!!!

Just listened to DH interview with Terry. I like the guy, he said he's not going to call out individual players in public, he wants to finish as strong as they can and keep the group together for now and then he knows what he needs moving forward.
He needs an owner to invest and not try to do things on the cheap.
For me, we now need to keep DH and give him the players he wants....if TS is still in charge, I'd expect DH to walk.

    The Henry selection was puzzling.
I don't think so. Holden wants to look at him to see if he is worth keeping.
Is that not what training is for?

If he's clearly a step below everyone else, why would he need to play in a game for that to be evident?
I suspect the problem is that he DOES look good in training, so they keep looking for signs that he can do it when it matters.  He can't.

We've produceda whole succession of technically ok-ish central midfielders (Morgan, Dempsey, Vennings, Henry) who just don't deliver

That’s not a valid argument to warrant keeping either

Let's hope we definitely need to improve in all areas just seems we are going around on this shit merry-go-round going nowhere
Love to be able to say we was unlucky but give it our best but watching us not even give it a go that's what gets to me

Apart from Stocktons thunder strike Morecombe were pony as well today. It’s not like an Ipswich game where we have been played off the park.
  • Where would we be without our Crystal Palace loanee? We've had our season saved by our local rivals. While it might take a total rebuild to challenge for promotion, we'll need significant work just to maintain current levels of awfulness. We'll be very lucky to get another JRS.

  • I can’t happen of course but I wouldn’t be disappointed if we got rid of everyone bar Leaburn and Maynard-Brewer.

Even more reason we should have beaten them at home against a poor side
Not good enough really is it

Shocking to be beat by those bottom feeders again.
Holden needs to have a long think about serving up those rubbish tactics at home.
Should have played a 4-4-2 with Leaburn and Kanu up front. Rak on the wing and Sess belting forward.

Instead, we got more of that back pass shit.
Even when we are behind, we still play like we are protecting a 1-0 lead away from home.

Watch our midfield in that game - their first instinct when they get the ball is to go backwards - even when Morecambe were keeping 11 in their own half.

It’s unwatchable boring crap, made worse when we are losing and try to play all out attack for the last 5 mins (as the oppo just tine waste.

Not a good advert for season ticket renewals.

Just a crap afternoon all round. The right side of the East Stand was flooded with hundreds of freebies with its usual impact, plus the performance was dire. Thoroughly unenjoyable.

Exactly, and that the worrying thing for me. From my memory Morecambe only really fashioned one chance that was not from a mistake from our team, and that was the Stockton miss.

I can’t remember them really doing much otherwise, yet we still manage to find ways to concede 3 goals.

For me the priority next season will be figuring out why it happens - I don’t just think it’s a personnel thing - and then bringing in the right players and coaching staff to address it.

Stockton .. quiet all season 'til he come to the Valley and is up against our sleep walking defence, THEN he comes awake
Our 'players' are on holiday and this bodes very badly for next season, cos rest assured there will be very little cash for reinforcements even if the 'scouting network' can come up with a few names worth signing
  • Left after 75 mins so I could get an earlier train back to Manchester. As soon as I saw the midfield lineup at 14.00 I knew we were in for a long afternoon. Henry, Morgan and Dobson are one paced, defensively minded players, often looking to be safe in their passing rather than expansive. They couldn't even get that right! The number of inaccurate, misplaced passes was embarrassing.
Henry had a mare, gifting them the first goal, then continuing to pass to the opposition at every available opportunity.
As several have suggested we need a wholesale clearout if we want to challenge for top six next season.
  • Reality is that if the takeover doesn't happen, our budget may be less or similar to this season, hence our squad could very well be poorer, not better, when next season begins. Losing Rak Saki will be the biggest loss. Also losing Hector (he won't sign) will be tough on the back line.

The midfield with Morgan is bereft of talent.

As Curbs said post match, Chuks and CBT are big losses and if unsure on their fitness, new faces are needed. Sadly he also said about the loaned out players coming back in the summer for Holden to look at. The fact that they couldn't get into this very poor team says it all already.

Takeover or worse to come is the reality.
  • 19 times we have conceded the opening goal this season and we are yet to turn any of them into wins. We are get ourselves back into the game and just then allow the opposition to comfortably take the initiative afterwards.
  • Awful. Thank god I am on holiday next week
