  • Spurs been badly let down by a couple of their players but no doubt the ref will get the blame
  • Nearly 1-5 but blazed over when it was easier to hit the target
  • Jackson has got probably the easiest hat trick a striker will ever score in the PL.
  • It seems ridiculous to say when the guy’s just got a hattrick, but Nicolas Jackson is still fucking rubbish.
That hattrick is a false indicator.

no, only Romero will be blamed and rightly so.

Udogie had two rush of bloods to the head but he's a youngster.  Romero should know better, thats his 4th red in 2 seasons, absolute madness.

Have you ever heard of a player called Ryan Innis?

Half an Inniss, I believe it's known as.
  • That Jacksons celebrations scoring a hatrick like that has rattled my brain a little bit. Against a high line Spurs down to 9 and he's celebrating like he isn't typically useless. Then misses a proper chance that isn't an open net completely? Chelsea have some right guff on their books for how much they've spent.

    Can't stand those lot

Agreed, he should have scored 6.

Not a pen imo, got the ball and it wasn't malicious.

I hate VAR, if that was against us even I'd claim the other team are hard done by.

The worst part of the image is people showing only the still shot of the contact after he clearly makes contact with the ball, Enzo doesn't even go down as Romero hadn't lost control.

I didn't see any of the other stuff, only tuned in for the penalty incident.
Sorry can’t agree.  It was malicious
Yeah fair enough, I didn't think it looked it and I always side with the defender as I think they're restricted enough as it is.

Fella, it was a pen and a red all day long.  Just cant do that!
Fair enough saying it as a Spurs fan.

My perception is play on as he got the ball and Enzo didn't go down and Romero looked controlled enough to me.

Good job I ain't a ref as there would be red cards being waived off left right and centre 😂
If you think Romero looked controlled, i'd love to see someone who'd lost his head.
You need to understand mate I celebrated Ryan Innis headers and Dobbo crunches like we had scored.

As long as the other player doesn't break a bone, game on.
  • Didn’t watch the match , just turned on to see them suffer in injury time   , my loss , both teams make me vomit (nearly as much as Charlton) but good result and anything that puts a spanner in them cnuts season is good for me
as much as I hate spurs their support was brilliant at the end , proper fucking support and they can sing at a proper pace as well

  • I like Ange but what did he get booked for last night ?
  • I like Ange but what did he get booked for last night ?
Usually an unflustered presence on the sideline, Postecoglou was incensed when the officials flagged for an offside but tried to play an advantage only for Spurs to give the ball away under pressure. Referee Michael Oliver booked Postecoglou for the manager's first time since he joined the club.
  • Ange has been a breath of fresh air to the Prem. Love how he's got Spurs playing too , just hope the Van Der Ven and Maddison injuries aren't long term.

And to think Ange was supposedly involved in the original pre Andrew Muir Aussie consortium too.

  • There is playing a high line, and then there is this.....

all credit to Spurs, down to nine men but going with a 0-7-1 formation

Chelsea embraced chaos when they needed control at Spurs they must

Bloody hells bells.  Got a sore head this morning.  More so because of my blood pressure is still coming down.

Still absolutely no complaints with any of the decisions.  Would have had no complaints had either Udogie or Romero seen red for their first incidents.

Udogie will be cut some slack, he's a young fella who's only played 10 games for the club up until last night.
Romero, on the other hand, club vice captain, pretty much done everything to get himself sent off in a reckless 5 min spell.  4th red card in a couple of seasons.  Got what he deserved.  I'd be fining him two weeks wages and giving him an absolute bollocks today as you just can't go down to 10 men in games like that.

Hopefully Maddison and van der Venn aren't too bad but the way vdV pulled up, he could be out for a couple of months rather than weeks.

At the start of the season I said on this thread we were paper thin squad-wise at CB.  And now we're going to find out how paper thin we are.  No doubt Dier will play the next 3 games (against Wolves, Villa and City while Romero is suspended) but who do you play alongside him.  Ashley Phillips (18yo we signed from Blackburn who has yet to play a first team game!?), Ben Davies (even slower that Eric Dier)?  I wouldn't be at all surprised if we play Bissouma there for his pace.  We may even see Alfie Dorrington drafted in from the PL B team.

Cant fault the efforts of the players.  Vicario, Royal and PEH (especially PEH who I've been so critical of last 18 months) were absolutely magnificent last night.  You wont see a 9 man team come off to a standing ovation like that very often.
He's a full international who's played 2 full seasons in Serie A. Regardless of his age he should know better than to dive in on a player when already on a yellow and his team down to 10 men. Never mind the fact that Sterling was going away from goal. It was absolutely brainless.

Fair enough not as bad as Romero's disciplinary issues but i'd still be giving him a massive bollocking too as the second half game plan was out of the window within 10 minutes.
  • Shows how bad Chelsea are that they struggled to break them down against 9 men lol

Jackson is toilet, the worst hat trick i have ever seen and to miss an easy chance afterwards shows he's awful.

Entertaining game for the neutral, if Romero doesn't get booked Spurs probably win 3-0 at least.

I thought I'd share this lovely analogy I've just read, offering a slightly different perspective from someone disappointed with the performance...

"Giving us collective credit for not losing by 8 once we found ourselves down to 9 men from a winning position is like finding your wife bent over the sofa by the next door neighbour who you have beef with and then crediting her for making you a nice roast on Sunday"

    Haha.

  • Manchester City will equal the all time English record if they beat Liverpool in their next home game.

City have won all 23 home games in all competitions so far during 2023.

Sunderland hold the English record with 24 successive home wins, dating back to 1891-92.

  • Q: Should there be so many reviews allowed by captains or managers in matches and Video refs only gets involved off their own bat for the "clear and obvious" 🤔

A: "Its just not cricket, Harry."

    Q. "Howzat"

    A. We don't want League games going on for 120 minutes and more stoppages than just past Junction 10 on the M25, Clockwise.

I think this was prescient with the Spurs v Chelsea shenanigans.

Don't quote me on it but from what I heard on Talksport yesterday, I think they said the ball was only actually in play for 23 mins of the 45+12mins of the first half.  Thats absolutely bloody ridiculous lol.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if one of the stoppages led to van der Venn pulling his hamstring what with getting cold.  I guess its par for the course now.
  • West Ham play Olympiacos on Thursday at home in the Europa League and then play Nottingham Forest at home in the Premier League on Sunday. Both opponents are owned by Evangelos Marinakis. Roland Duchatelet could only dream of repeating this

Very possible. I think there was a 7 minute gap between Caicedo 'scoring' and the penalty from Palmer and then VDV got injured 5 minutes after that.
