I very much enjoyed the few moments he spent talking about Marcus Rashford. Not a sarcastic comment from me, but I found Dean Holden very relatable at that bit.

Couldnt believe it when he said that Marcus will be joining on loan
Pleased Dean emphasized my manta that formations have to change* during a game as 3-5-2 will manifest into a different formation if a player like Campbell comes on. He felt 3-5-2 could become 4-3-3 etc. Fluidity is king and rigidity is last century. That statement doesn't mean playing a RB at LB as it never works at Cafc unless the opposition are clueless and don't exploit our weakness.
Top man who had 3 broken legs and fought back from adversity. Holden relationship with Andy Scott should take the playing side forward.
Sadly for this Saturday, few of the new boys will play and are behind schedule. Taylor, Edun, Jones not ready and Leaburn won't be back before September as won't be even training with the 1st team squad for another two weeks.
After Dean Holden turned off and rebooted early doors he was an excellent guest to listen too and 👍👏 to the heathers and Richard for this evening.
*May not if the other Manager is dopey and can't think on his feet or else the subs can dovetail and still play the same formation.
Edit Holden for Holder ! I was doing the BBC quiz where you have to name every player Broad got out in test cricket 🏏
Interesting start with sound issues - all had been fine just before in the practice. At first we were worried it was some kind of hack but then realised the issue was at Dean’s end.
So claim to fame that I’ve now shown two Charlton managers the red card as had to do the same with Jacko once at our AGM Fortunately it solved it. (Will have to ask wonderful @Tracey to add fast fibre broadband to the spec for accommodation in future…)
He is an excellent guest - you can see why players respond so well to his approach.
I really appreciated that event, and was very encouraged. I'd describe Dean Holden as solid, authentic and straight talking. That's how I'd describe Curbs too, although I'm perhaps thinking of the Charlton TV Curbs. The Manager Curbs was sometimes a bit wary and left you wondering about a few things. Chirs Powell? on general matters the same impression of personal integrity, but I'm not sure I ever heard him explain his football "philosophy" as clearly as Holden does. Now other aspects of being a successful manager/coach will be tested, but after last night, I'm looking forward to it and am confident he will do well.
Excellent meeting management by CAST too, with three carefully co-ordinated interviewers and calm, effective resolution of some challenging tech issues. Worth the year's sub for that "meeting" alone.

He sounds like a Darlek
He was very complimentary, we hear, about his previous visit.
Looking forward to seeing you again Dean

Has Philippa Perry, Graysons partner, joined CAST?
I hope he's a success at Charlton.
