  • The wall for their free kick must have been too far to the right if AMB had to dive to the top corner of the side the wall was? Or did the fk just curl a few metres.

Nobody fancied following the ball, apart from their hungry player.

These basics are getting so annoying to watch again and again.

Rovers could easily have scored four tonight. We were lucky to not be at least three nil down by the time we got the equaliser. We may be lacking a strike partner for May but what about our defense... Once again we're playing at home and looking like we'll ship goals for fun.
We should have been winning at half time though, all their best chances were in a spell after their goal when the heads went a bit
If we regularly ship two goals at home this season, we're going to need to sign Haaland as May's partner.
  • Same old shit, different season.
  • Deserved to lose. Poor defending and too many players who lack end product.

Hoofing the ball up to May makes no sense.
  • Great goal by Kanu. May very unlucky, but he really needs to start scoring.
Defense a worry, their positional sense is not good for the 2nd goal, and they should have got tighter. No one tracked the run so they had 2 over on the left.
    Basic stuff.

Need to help AMB out for deflected saves. Someone should be running in ahead to clear any spills or make a block.

Have the rich owners any fivers down the back of their Lazyboy sofas? We could do with spending some more money FFS
Having "rich" owners mean nothing if they have deep pockets but short arms
  • Dobson was great first half everywhere but even he wilted in the second half, agree entirely about Payne not a League 1 player.

Where I would suggest most of their team passed the Charlton height test comfortably our team remains well below par.

  • We do I feel have the potential to be a good team, but we need a good striker along side May.
we also have far two many injuries which does not help.
Payne was appalling tonight and is far too inconsistent and should be on the bench as a substitute.

  • Christ this club piss me off.

How do we concede so many chances? You’d forgive it if we were gung ho at the other end and we were having a gamble on outscoring the opposition.

How many chances did Bristol have? Marquis in first half where we were carved open like a kebab outside The Venue, the two goals they scored, Sinclair’s lob, shots blocked on the line.

Bristol would have been out of sight if they’d put away half of their clear cut chances like we did.

Are our attacking players so bad that we need to throw too many forward to try and bumble our way to a chance? Is it a fitness thing with players not being to get back in position?
  • We need that striker, we all know it. Kanu did well and got a goal, the ball he put away is the sort of service May needs, not balls knocked up to his head or the defenders chest or crosses.

There is a team In ther but there needs to additions to the squad and quick if we are not go be struggling for the playoffs at this stage.
  • Overall we had probably were slightly the better side, but Rovers could have been 3 up if they took chances and we didn't really create any good chances until later in the game

May looked a lot better when he had Kanu alongside him.

But we are lacking in almost every department to get where we want to be which is top 6. We need a striker or two. A right winger to replace Rak Saki, the defence seems shaky no matter who plays, only one right back in the squad and a midfield which does some good things but ultimately is not good enough
  • Surprised with the negativity about some of our players - thought everyone played pretty well except Payne who isn’t up to it. If May hits that two inches to the left the narrative on here would be totally different I feel. Just need get the 3 or 4 good signings we are hoping to get and we win games like tonight no problem.

  • There was nothing wrong with that performance we will play a lot worse and win...
    Nothing wrong? Were you there?

Why did we get rid of Wollacott? Still think he’s better than both AMB and Isted
Because we got a tenner for him!
  • Too many youngsters playing. Ness getting the blame on here for their winner but by rights he should be plying his trade out on loan somewhere.

Stand-outs for me were Edun, Dobbo & Camara. Jones was steady and CBT would be brilliant if he could cross (like he did for Dobbo's goal against Orient).

May just needs one to hit his backside & go in. Once he scores he'll be fine. But why did he take that free-kick - I thought Taylor was the dead ball specialist.

And if you think I'm bad you should have shared the journey home with my son. He thinks we should cut up May's contract & send him packing !!

  • Bristol Rovers are not a promotion side and neither are we.

The new owners have had plenty of time to pontificate, now they need to put their hand in their pocket(s) and produce a squad that is genuinely capable of promotion - otherwise there is no point.  We're already six points down, the time for action is now!

    Come on, they’re only human.

Rovers we're not in the game AMB was a by -stander first half ,only when we went 442 they started hitting long balls and breaking quickly .. which caused us a couple of problems
  • We looked decent going forwards down both flanks. Blackett-Taylor and Edun (who is a great acquisition by the way) have struck up a good relationship.
Dobson was immense first half. Comparing his performance to Payne is painful. That’s not to say that Payne doesn’t try- he probably tries too hard at times, it’s just he lacks the quality and physicality to be anything more than a bystander.
I think Anderson is a decent prospect but maybe a little naive and telegraphs some of his thoughts. Asiimwe is a good defender and needs to improve his attacking play. Both are improving every game.
I expected more from Camara but felt he grew into the game. Same with May who had some decent half chances and one excellent chance that he should be burying.
Central defence is a worry. For a fifteen minute period after their first goal we had huge gaps. AMB made some great saves but then an error for their winner.
So frustrating. It looks like a threadbare squad is going to be tested again unless there are some quality addition.
As an aside, Charlie Kirk spent the whole of the half time ‘warm up’ pissing around acting the clown. He shouldn’t be in the squad again as I don’t think he gives a toss.

Bloody hell Kirk is setting new standards in scapegoating. He doesn’t even come on and still gets pelters.
Probably says a lot though that in a game we're chasing, with only 2 attacking players on the bench, he doesn't come on.
