Saw this band advertised on a poster in the Amersham in New Cross in 1996. The name has always stuck with me.

    The Snivelling Shits
Saw them at The Whiskey a Go-Go. Sid and Nancy were there, as well as Jones and Cook who headlined with, I think, some of the Heartbreakers? Johnny Thunders? Tried to Google it, but nothing comes up.
  • Angela Rippons bum - 80,s band from Essex I believe

Think the Shits singer was a bloke called Les Miserables, as John Peel used to say, probably an assumed name.

    Some obscure bands

    Frank Sumatra and the Mob

Serious Drinking - who gave the world "Bobby Moore is Innocent"

    The Velvet Underpants

I'm guessing not the two I've heard of in that list? (Nurse with Wound and Meat Whiplash)
  • Otis Westinghouse and the Elevators (IIRC).  Once supported Squeeze at the Albany in Deptford...turned out to be Elvis Costello doing the boys a favour
  • The Tourists were the first band I was into.

Dave Stewart and that short-haired woman. Isn't that Eurythmics by another name?

Salako, a pop band who were signed to Jeepster along with Belle & Sebastian and Snow Patrol. Their 1999 record Musicality is a standout in what I consider to be one of the worst years for music between 1965 and 2005.

  • Penny and the Jets
  • My 70's list:

    Ludus
    Girls at our Best
The Flatbackers (Kid from Kidbrooke a particular favourite)
    Delta 5

    DEF

Hole is one of my favourite all time albums, though that was released as Scraping Foetus off the Wheel.

Harmonic Generator, i borrowed a bit of that for my own work.

Certainly not new, they emerged around the same time as the Killers, Libertines, Kings of Leon, the Strokes.

I actually forgot about the Datsuns until i saw your post. They broke through with a couple of other bands from that part of the world, Jet and a band i loved at the time called the Vines. Their debut album is great.
