Believe it or not, there was a band called The C##ts, look it up and make sure you put band in your search.
I remember seeing Splodgenessabounds when the support band didn't turn up. The played as support to themselves under the name of the F… C… They played for about 20-odd minutes playing the wrong instruments and making as much noise as they could. People in the audience who didn’t know it was a spoof were a treat to see.

I saw them support Bad Manners in Chatham around 20 years ago, Buster and gang turned up late and the audience of about 300 had to endure his noise for a bit longer whilst Buster got himself ready.
Max Splodge supported Bad Manners last year. Looked like he didn't have much of a band with him. From what I could see they were mainly members of Bad Manners (very tight though).

I saw him at Brighton supporting them, he was brilliant.
My time machine being conspicuous by its absence, I’m unable to travel in time to tell you of the bands I will have heard of in the future that I haven’t heard of yet.
I like a bit of New Zealand, newish, punk, The Datsuns and The D4s etc.
Harmonic Generator, i borrowed a bit of that for my own work.
Certainly not new, they emerged around the same time as the Killers, Libertines, Kings of Leon, the Strokes.
I actually forgot about the Datsuns until i saw your post. They broke through with a couple of other bands from that part of the world, Jet and a band i loved at the time called the Vines. Their debut album is great.
saw a clip the other day that said that, in terms of top 40 hits , bands are dead. Only 3 number one hits from a band between 2020 and YTD ( and one of th was the Beatles!) Compare with 30 years ago for the same period and it was something like 146 or 346 or some such number.
Difficult to put a finger on why, but the commodification of music will be a big part of it.
So pretty the average young person on the street won’t have heard of any band!
Just made me chuckle that there was a Zappa album entitled The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life. Jeez there's some weird stuff on that live album - like covers of Stairway to Heaven, Ravel's Bolero and the theme tune to the ancient western Bonanza.
Anyway two contributions. An indie Rock band with Latin influences called Calexico from Arizona and Fila Brazillia from Hull.

Venues they played put signs in the window ‘Free Beer here Saturday’.
I started by rejecting offers I never received, and never looked back.
