When he waged war on Putin you wondered how it would go if he didn't see it through

For him to turn back and then take the "protection" offered to him was so obviously foolhardy!  I find it odd that someone so successful and previously so careful didn't see this coming when literally the rest of the world knew it was only a matter of time.

Yet Putin will sit there and deny all knowledge...and get away with it,
I'm pretty sure he will have known it was coming...
  • Putin has played a blinder here

left it long enough to say 'see, all is forgiven,  we have let him continue his business, and travel to and from Russia to Africa etc'

left it short enough to say 'yeah we did this, did you expect there to be no reaction from me'
  • Obviously this is no suprise to anyone but the more this stuff happens and you see how Putin conducts things he really is turning into the stereotypical bond villain before our very eyes. The worrying thing is that in Russia he will be applauded by alot of the population for showing his strength as a leader

Whilst I don't think a lot of tears will be shed for the Wagner people, it's pretty terrible for the crew members and other parties without blood on their hands.
I kind of agree agree but I'm also guessing that the crew members were loyal and trusted servants who have been handsomely rewarded for years of service. If you work closely for or are friends with a war lord, the risk of early death must come with the territory

Not sure. Reports that one had been in post for just three months. Very difficult to judge someone's character based solely on their employer.

I agree but surely if you are Wagner top brass you don't just let anyone be part of the cabin crew
  • Just another one of the long list of Putin haters who has mysteriously died. No surprise at all.

True but also if you were offered a job so closely aligned to a marked man would you take it regardless of how much the pay was ?

  • But what if it landed on an orphanage?

Oh you can absolutely be judged if you decide to work for a war criminal who’s committed atrocities across the globe and taken part in genocide.

The founder of the Wagner group, Utkin,  was also on the plane along with another or others. I don't find killing anything particularly satisfying but these people were every  bit as evil as any other mass murderer. They were never going to get brought before a court so this may have been the closest many of their victims will get to any form of revenge or justice.
I do feel for the staff on the plane but they must have known the risks and what happens to people who go against the Russian state. Normal people wouldn't share a field with the likes of Prigozhin let alone a private jet. Wagner group, in their mutiny, a few weeks back took down several aircraft and killed pilots and crew, it was only a matter of time before the  Russians took revenge and they do like to make a point when they take revenge.

No not at all, just one is 'ours' and one isn't.
  • This is the ultimate Mafia way of doing things. If one tries to overthrow his boss, he either succeeds or gets killed. The scary thing is, a whole immense country is run by a Mafia boss.😱

It's called dark humour. Really not fussed if some Russian Gollem look alike or a sex trafficker for the elite got offed.

You are a silly sausage though, if you think Putin is the only person with power that takes out his foe

  • Apparently the plane fell from a 20th floor hotel window.

I don't think there is a league table where you get to the top by being the worst of humanity. Mercenary groups or individual mercenaries are generally all thought of pretty much  the same of anywhere you go in the world. Generally paid to kill and commit mass murder. At the moment its Wagner Group committing mass murder for money where ever they are in the world.

Just because you don't agree with a certain side generally, doesn't mean everything they say is wrong. I do like that I'm sharing alt right opinions and another day am a loony corbynista though, shows that I'm not stuck with a team for my misguided opinions.

Apparently it’s still not confirmed whether he was on the plane which sounds strange when Putin has sent his condolences to the family.
And the Kemlin said they didn’t do it. So that’s cleared that but up 🫣
    BBC latest summary:
    1. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says allegations that Russia gave an order to kill Yevgeny Prigozhin are “a complete lie"
    2. Wagner chief Prigozhin is "highly likely" to be dead after Wednesday's plane crash near Moscow, the UK defence ministry says
    3. But it warns there is "not yet definitive proof" he was on board the plane, saying he was known to take "exceptional security measures"
