  • Cowley has definitely made it to the second round of interviews.
Bodie and Doyle dropped him off in the Ford Capri a couple of hours ago

Nathan Jones or Leam Richardson seem the least likely appointments to have some turning their backs on the Club but most likely to be serious contenders if interested. Of those two, I'd choose Jones.
Imagine turning your back on the club because they don't hire the manager you want 😂😂
It's what folk are posting though isn't it? I agree it's typical tantrum throwing "facebook mum" look at me behaviour. If it's not my pick, at worst I shall be beside myself...... for all of five minutes 😉
  • So in brief, Scott likes Scott, Cawley likes Cowley and no one wants Appleton.
    Nailed on Appleton then.
  • Probably end up with Paul Ince Lol

    Second and third stage interviews??
It's a professional football managers job!
Their CV is there for all to see?

So if..... No when he or she turns out to be shit they can say "Well. they did well in the interview".

    Another f*******g nonsense.

We all lived through the Karel Fraeye era so i'm sure people don't actually mean what they type.
  • There's none of the (realistic) names mentioned so far that I have come remotely close to thinking "if its [name here] I'm done", I'd prefer a younger upcomer to one of the hoary "established" names but I can see the arguments for most suggestions so far.

The likes of Appleton, Crowley etc might not be the names to have me imagining promotion at a canter but having a bit of experience and stability is not the worst result when we started out on relegation form.
  • Genuinely wouldn’t have an issue with Cowley. Seems the most likely

  • Getting someone like Parker or Jones having managed in the PL recently would be a good coup for us

This club is pathetic. A cheap, uninspiring middle of the road league one manager.
    Suits us perfectly then.
  • Cowley did an absolute shocking job at Pompey. I really don’t know who I want out of the likely ones it’s going to be. Just gotta crack on and get behind him 😐
  • Finding the massive averse response to the Cowleys a little bit weird if I’m honest. They’re not my first choice either but some of you are acting as if the club is doomed with them.
I think it's because their spell at Pompey, a comparable club to us, was pretty underwhelming. Not terrible, but nothing to make you want them as your manager.
  • Don`t you have to find two salaries if the Cowleys are chosen? That puts it out of range to start with.

Why does it? Holden and Senda have been let go, so there’s space in the budget for two coming in.

43% win ratio is far from shocking

Cowley is a good manager at this level, people who wouldn’t take him have delusions of grandeur about us as a club
Sorry but that is rubbish. It's not about him as a name. I'd actually prefer a few managers who don't even have his profile. A few of us have put our reasons why we don't want him, and if you want to argue them then go ahead by all means, but don't make up a strawman please
  • I think the reaction is because we’ve tried all the different styles in the last 17 years:

Former favourite and legend- Powell ✔️
    Hard nosed, authoritarian- Bowyer ✔️
    Foreign coach- loads ✔️
Foreign non league coach- Fraeye ✔️
Progressive up and coming manager- Garner ✔️
No dickheads nice guy northerner- Holden ✔️

Guess it’s time we went for vanilla, bland, lower league bloke with connection to Greenwich.

I really think we could expect to push the boat out fo Jones though. This idea that he’s unreachable is odd.

It was meant as a joke.
