Due to his constant lack of availability I don’t think he will attract a fee anymore. Maybe put him for sale on eBay. Hardly used, low mileage, engine work needs attention.
Any reasonable offer accepted.
A fee!
Can't imagine he'll get a contract anywhere after this season, who will sign a player who can play about 200 minutes a season?

The below is crude of course but is based on Chuks second spell with us.
It shows how many points we have won in games he has completely missed, and where we would have finished if we extrapolated those points across a "Chuks-less" season (or part season for this yr).
Of course there will be other influencing factors but I for one would not be "binning him" in January as it seems clear that the last season and a half we have needed him to stay up.
Yes, his wages could be split to 2 other players but do we really want two more Allan Campbell's, or two more Ahadmes etc etc.
This season We have got 11 points from the 10 games he has missed. 21 points. 20th.
23/24 We got 27 points from the 29 games he missed. 43 points. 22nd
22/23 We have got 48 points from the 33 games he missed. 67 points. 10th (no change)
21/22 We got 42 points from the 37 games he missed (includes first half of season when he was at Birmingham so didn't play for us). 52 points. 17th.
I think that says more about the rest of our shit show than it does about Chuks.
23/24 - He played 517 minutes and scored 2 goals 22/23 - 328 minutes and 1 goal.
If we desperately need a guy who only played 850 minutes in 2 years and scored 3 goals then there's no hope for us at all.
His best years were 20/21 (15 from 38) and 21/22 (4 from 9). Since then he has dropped off.
Total (if anyone interested) 3.025'min 23 goals 8 assists

Maybe true. If it is it is an indictment of our strike force, not an endorsement of how brilliant he is.
A couple of seasons ago he was earning his right to be on the bench. Now he isn't.

I don’t think you can measure his impact by just goals. Unlike our other strikers he can actually hold the ball up, and link play, which gets us up the pitch and on the attack again. Pretty much every single time he is subbed on we play better for that last half an hour of the game. That turns draws into wins and losses into draws and is why when he is fit we suddenly start picking up points every year
Of the 10 goals we scored this season while Aneke was fit. Only 3 were scored before he was subbed on

He also takes shots unexpectedly which none of our other strikers do. They don't always go in but they create questions for defenders
I compare Chuks to a similarly talented forward, Paul Mortimer. Both blighted by mainly muscle injuries, I wonder if it is something relatively simple like lack of proper hydration?

I doubt it. I mean that would call into question the competence of our physios, our coaches and of Aneke himself, and while I am ready to question the competence of our whole operation I am not sure that I would assume Chuks himself would not be exploring options. I just think he's come to the end of the road.

Absolutely none of us doubt his impact on the rare occasions he does actually play. The issue is that for whatever he earns (5-6k a week maybe?), if we had a reasonably competent recruitment team then we should easily be able to find someone at this level who can do the same job and actually play more than 6 games a season.
For the money we spent, Ahadme should be that guy, but unfortunately he is not.

Similarly talented. I don't think so. Without his injuries Mortimer was premier league standard.

Oh 100% you are right. But there were people doubting his impact further up the thread because he’s only scored 1 goal this season
The reason we depend on Chuks so much is because we have failed to sign a target man type striker for years. Stockley was good initially, but never really recovered from an injury, we’ve then had Tedic and Ahadme, and Leaburn has been injured for most of the last 2 years

No. It’s because they stopped using White Horse linement.

He creates panic in the opposition box with his physicality, whereas Ahadme looks too weak and easy to mark. And Miles is still learning that part of his game too.

Too inconsistent, too many bad decisions. On his day a magician, but he decided when those days would be.

Mortimer is 10x the player Aneke ever will be. He was a different class to Aneke

I mean, fair play, I've read some old tosh on here over the years but this is right up there in terms of the mental gymnastics that have gone on, not to mention the time and dedication.
So let me get this right. You've worked out the points we got in games where he didn't play, extrapolated that over the whole season and have come to the conclusion that we would've been relegated if it wasn't for him - is that right?

Well obviously not as I said in my post it was crude and there were other influencing factors, which you seem to have ignored. But it does show a clear correlation that when he isn't around we have performed worse. As for time and dedication, I was bored on a commuter train to work. I seem to recall you dedicated quite a bit of time coming onto this thread repeatedly to announce how many games in a row he had missed after each game a little while ago which I have to say was a truly thrilling read. 🙄

He's a centre half shit houser. Just watch him when he comes on, he goes over and starts bullying the opposition players. We dont have anyone that can do that.
I would not mind him going on the coaching staff but I think he has an outside business housing or finance

For the money we spent, Ahadme should be that guy, but unfortunately he is not.
Oh 100% you are right. But there were people doubting his impact further up the thread because he’s only scored 1 goal this season
The reason we depend on Chuks so much is because we have failed to sign a target man type striker for years. Stockley was good initially, but never really recovered from an injury, we’ve then had Tedic and Ahadme, and Leaburn has been injured for most of the last 2 years
He's a centre half shit houser. Just watch him when he comes on, he goes over and starts bullying the opposition players. We dont have anyone that can do that.
I would not mind him going on the coaching staff but I think he has an outside business housing or finance
You’re forgetting Danny Hylton He might not be able to bully them like Chuks but no doubt he can wind opponents up.
I don’t think you can measure his impact by just goals. Unlike our other strikers he can actually hold the ball up, and link play, which gets us up the pitch and on the attack again. Pretty much every single time he is subbed on we play better for that last half an hour of the game. That turns draws into wins and losses into draws and is why when he is fit we suddenly start picking up points every year
Of the 10 goals we scored this season while Aneke was fit. Only 3 were scored before he was subbed on

“There have been no setbacks," Jones revealed. "He's someone we have to be really careful with, conscious of his injury record. We got to a very good place with him by getting impact pretty much every game, then he got injured. Hopefully over Christmas we'll have him back and he can provide that impact again.”

Yeah, I did - literally one or two seconds once or twice a week. It was still far too much time.
I compare Chuks to a similarly talented forward, Paul Mortimer. Both blighted by mainly muscle injuries, I wonder if it is something relatively simple like lack of proper hydration?
Similarly talented. I don't think so. Without his injuries Mortimer was premier league standard.
The goal at Maine Road in the 89/90 season, the goal at Norwich in the first division days whilst at Sainsburys.
It’s nice to see Man City back defending like those golden days. Colin Hendry skipping side to side trying to mark Morts, Paul Williams and Andy Jones on his own and failing miserably .

A couple of seasons ago he was earning his right to be on the bench. Now he isn't.

The gaffer also gave the latest on Chuks Aneke.
