I love the man, but I’ve said before that it feels like diminishing returns. The Chuks that could only play 30 mins but look like the best striker in the division in that 30 mins feels like a long time ago. Today was a return from a significant injury (again) but he must have been felt ready enough by N. Jones to be thrown on ahead of Ahadme, Godden and Hylton but, let’s be honest, he did nothing.
I really hope Chuks still has a big role to play for us, his talent is undeniable, I just worry we’re at the end here.
I have stuck £50 on with William Hill that he does not play another 100 minutes for us this season.
Hmm…not sure I’d do that. When he’s on the bench he normally gets something like 20-30 mins (assume it was closer to the former today but can’t be arsed to look it up), so woild only need 5 average sub appearances to make 100 more mins.
Frankly the question is what is he able to do in that 100 minutes for us?

It was a * in what was (lets be honest) a drab game with poor refereeing decisions. We would of been better off (add to your list) have Kanu, and Dixion on (for their 'development'). Just seeing Aneke today just shows to me what Charlton has been and always will be about.

This is possibly the most confusing post I’ve ever read on Charlton Life, and I used to wade through the House of Commoners.

He's not got splinters on his bum through this. My bet will come in.

He should have been on earlier so he had more time to impact things. He only got the ball a couple of times and didn’t lose it, had one good bit of play to hold off a defender, turn and play Godden in which was annoyingly called off by the lino. Don’t think you can judge any player too harshly on 9 minutes on the pitch

If he'd come on earlier people on here wouldve been crying that we'd played him for too long and it's our own fault if he pulled another muscle!
Agree with that (rarely cay that about a SLPress article): It was harsh on Hylts (Danny Hylton) to come off the bench but Chuks was electric in training on Friday, so we made that decision- Chuks over Hylton anyday.
We know if we get a fit and aggressive Chuks Aneke he is a real asset.” At 100% Chuks is an asset- shame we only have him at around 25%-50% this season.
He'll still most likely go this season (just hope he has a Adebayo Akinfenwa type send off- scoring in the play off final).
@JustFloydRoad surely a link would be more helpful than a screenshot?
Here is the video. Upon reflection they do say Prem footballer (which sadly Chuks is not). It was the 31 yr old footballer from North London part that threw me.

49 minutes of slow moving dross today not even basic ball control - weird Rotherham players treated him like a roundabout and carried on their merry way

Think that’s harsh, he was a bit of a handful and one of the few players who consistently looked to move forward. Game was already gone by the time he came on too
Don’t get the hype Get rid unreliable big earner like far too many over the years taking a wage from the our club not earnt. In any other other job if your not fit for purpose your shown the door he’s a lucky man
Wouldn't give him another contract, he looks like he's well set up for the future with his property business though. Just a shame it hasn't worked out with injuries.

If he played 23 games he would of scored 2 goals as well.

An unnamed 31 year old footballer from North London who cannot be named 🤔
