I’m probably in the minority but I think Hector is a classy centre half who is too good for this league! covers the ground very quickly good range of passing and can put himself about as well Looks very very laid back and clearly doesn’t like playing with players that are nowhere near as good as him but that’s his own fault as if he’d sorted his head out a long time ago would be not in this situation that said I don’t care if he looks laid back as he makes things easy that other players can’t do
Pleased with that. Nice to see us change things around and regain control, that's something we've been missing. Earlier in the season a draw would have been the best we could have hoped for, but in the end a two goal victory didn't flatter us. We're not the finished article, but this is the best I've felt after a Charlton match for some time.

ill get my tin hat!!
I especially liked the part where he once again needlessly dived into a challenge on the half way line and completely missed so Wycombe could get through on goal
Someone just gave my beloved, Terell Thomas, 4 on Player Marks, so I'm probably going to be extremely aggressive for the rest of the thread. The guy was enormous today ffs
3-1 totally flattered us . Wycombe looked like a decent side . When they equalised there looked like only one team was going to win and it wasn’t us but thanks to a scuffed shot and a brilliant individual goal from CBT, I can go home happy .
Still lots of work to do. The right back Abankwah was pony again and when Watson came on to replace him , we looked far more assured .
COYR!
Don't know why this got two lol's, was exactly how I saw it.

Agree. And don't know why people are LOLing your comment.
For the first 25 minutes of the second half, Wycombe were completely on top and I thought they would go on and win. Scott, Brownie and Lisbie all saying the same on Charlton TV.
Some decent subs, and a change in formation from Appleton, got us back in the game.
I like Tedic. Works really hard and is going to be a good signing for us this year.
Goals change games. Scoring first settled us. Their equaliser put them in the ascendancy. Good to see us find a way to get back on top and then kill the game. That kind of reaction has been missing too often in recent seasons. Makes a huge difference having options off the bench too and for the second week running subs have changed it for us.
Defence looked generally a bit better. I’m not convinced by Hector but Jones is starting to look decent as he gets fitter. Two proper fullbacks either side should only improve us. Hopefully Edun isn’t out for long and Watson looked good when he came on - no way any of our centre backs covering at full back would’ve made that overlapping run for Tedic’s goal.
Thought Louie Watson looked good first half but tired. Was a bit concerning generally to see players pulling up with cramp in September, but we know the fitness and conditioning side of the squad needs work (like so much else). On a plus note for that, another 90 minutes from CBT with him still fresh enough to roast his full back in the closing stages. He is coming along really well and I think we are getting ti stage we can even start to drop some of the “no end product” criticism.
Not the finished article yet but more progress and there’s just a hint of momentum building. A pleasing day overall.

He cannot head a clearance away ever. Just straight to the opposition player nearest him just one thing hevis poor at. There are others.l0l
Job done but didnt we make a meal of it. Great first half but was all them first 20 mins of the second half. Substitutions changed the game and well done apps for seeing that.

That final goal was pure desire and determination from CBT. Great finish - but he literally took the ball on the left and decided he wasn’t going home without three points today.
We massively miss Fraser and Camara. Put those two in our team and with the front three options we have we won’t be short of goals. Anderson was poor when he came on.
Think Abankwah improved as the game wore on. He’s clearly a cb being made to play at rb. Watson will be holding that shirt from next week - but have a feeling Abankwah will look a lot better in his normal position.

A win is a win but was less than convincing. CBT and Leaburn were our pick. Didn't think Campbell experiment worked but he worked very hard and linked well for the first goal. Louie Watson looked tidy on the ball, put in a decent corner but lost the ball far too often and gave away needless free kicks. Once Fraser and Camera are fit I doubt we'd see him much and I'd prefer Anderson over him if needed. Abankwah was all at sea but I felt sorry for him as he obviously isn't a full back but he didn't hide and put a shift in. Tennai Watson showed when he came on what a proper full back is. Hope he can stay fit because if he can the right back spot is his. Shame Edun is injured as for the first time in ages we could field actual full backs at full back. Thought Jones had a good game, Hector not so. Not convinced by him at all, don't know what his problem is although I suspect he thinks League One football is beneath him. Dobbo was Dobbo. Tedic scuffed his goal home well.
We need to improve a lot even to make the top six.
Ref and lino helped us out just before our second, or was it third, with a frankly ridiculous offside decision. If that had happened to us I'd have been furious.
PWR... I brought my aussie gf along for her first taste of English football, and now she's a claiming to be a good luck charm..... tbf she's had a good start to her Charlton love affair!
I'll add opinions on players later, but right now, having a few pints in the fans bar overlooking the hallowed turf of the valley, and seeing the Charlton spirit of fight, determination, and grit, I'm a very happy lad.
Not convinced by our back four as a unit, especially Abankwah whose replacement made an immediate difference just by straying forward and laying on the second goal.
Great to see a win though ... Never caught the name of the Brazilian who scored the third?

Wow...the guy didn't have a save to make....
covers the ground very quickly good range of passing and can put himself about as well

And Louis Watson...showed for the ball and got stuck on, yeah misplaced a couple but to gets 5s is a joke. Honestly have a fucking look at yourselves.
unfortunately I can’t see us keeping hold of Leaburn, CBT or Dobson those 3 really are class

No where near top 6.

Jones pick of the centre backs.
Big credit to Appleton for the positive subs.

What a feckin win!!!!

Well done mate and come back soon.
