A big problem in the lower CE (early doors) was staff just not trained. Not their fault, and we were very patient . Made loads of mistakes each time like overcharging,  not knowing what zero beer was, not being able find items on screen etc. Funniest was lad and his girlfriend given 2 pints of cider rather that 2 Peroni - they apologised and changed the 2 pints of cider with 2 half filled pints of beer (pre-poured). Lad said I paid for pints,  so they just poured one half into the other and magically his pint appeared! Except as he pointed out he had paid for 2 pints,  which confused them for another minute before a supervisor stepped in and gave him another pint!.

Will you still go back and use this facility again?

At West Ham they did a pint of lager or a cider for £4.50 each up to 45 mins prior to kick off.

We are charging the best part of £7 or above for a pint.

As well as improving the atrocious service they need to reduce the price of drinks to attract people into the stadium rather than drinking and eating elsewhere.

It isn't rocket science and cant believe that over the summer it has actually got worse and more expensive.
Problem is that nearly all the closest pubs have closed so they have a captive audience and are cashing in on that.

Woolwich is only 5 mins away and have a few pubs around the station including the Harry. We drink in the radical in Plumstead get the 2.26 and in the ground at 2.40...things won't improve until people do the same.

First game of the season was the final straw for me. To pay £8 a pint for such a dreadful pint with such poor service is just a mickey take. It would be nice to drink at the ground but will always favour a pub now, unless the club make the price more reasonable (service is always likely to be below par) like West Ham did if you got there early

No mate - going to get one of these and wear it under my coat. 12 pints should be enough.

  • Thank you again to those that approached us at West Brom asking when we are back.

We are still awaiting a response to emails we have sent…..

Where are our future "Captains of Industry" coming from?
Probably not from the CAFC bar staff.

Managed to get into the Fan's bar Wednesday.  First time this season as Valley Express Slow always arriving late.  See the Meantime IPA now gone up to £7.00 a pint...seems excessive.  Service was OK but staff still slow and apparently disinterested.  Also noticed a sign on the bar advertising cocktails!  How long would it take for them to mix them (although probably a pre-mix) - probably means Larry's bar not coming back...

Going to give the ROD a go tomorrow, not been in there for a few seasons, fed up with anything the club and its catering contractors have to offer, voting with my feet

They've no idea how to pour a pint, a glass of wine or make an orange squash, so anyone requesting a cocktail must be a very optimistic person.

It was hotter than the sun in there on Wednesday night.
  • The pie I had in the West Stand was even hotter than that! Could've run the undersoil heating with the steam off it.

    Phwoar, wot a scorcher…
  • The pizza our grand daughter had in Crossbars pre the PNE match was like a thin, dry, tasteless piece of cardboard...

    ...and cost £11, I believe.

Seriously, this and other issues HAVE to be addressed ASAP as fans are already indicating they'll vote with their feet regarding all the nonsense we're currently being fed ( no pun intended)

Isn't this what CAST is for ?

Maybe the Fans' Rep on the Board should be reinstated.

Explains alot. Feel sorry for a local business. The bar should just stick to ruining beer rather than messing up cocktails too.
Hope they've got a menu on the wall. Last thing we need is sex on the beach with  advocaat in it.

Went in there once and it was full of knobheads so I've never returned.

Apart from the footballing side (which is the most important) the club retail side is utterly shambolic and getting worse.

No surprise with no one in charge.

  • I also saw the adverts on the bar for cocktails. For a bargain £12 each.

When buying a round that included a glass of wine, I found myself having to train the bar staff about the difference between medium and large wine measurements.

I'm unsure how these same people will have made a cocktail.
