Think maybe they plan to go back in for JCH in the summer, hence a loan.
He off to Mexico in the summer apparently had a decent offer
I was told this by a Peterborough fan in the pub last week but my post only got 1 lol.

I know Ronnie is known for being a WUM but please be fair and share out the lols equally!!

A midfielder we are looking at is 100% Aaron Collins - that one has come straight from Sparrows lane. Not too sure why it’s a big secret it’s quite well known 😂
Isn't he more of a winger/striker? Might be a good replacement for CBT if we're still going to play with wingers but if we're already finalising Ikpeazu and Ladapo I would be surprised to see us still looking at him as a striker for a 352
    Can/would play in the 10
Seems to play just behind the target man against us and always catches the eye with his mobility, touch and intelligence.  I've been an admirer for a while but assume he is out of our range - but if he WANTS to move then maybe the perspective is slightly different.

To be honest, I cant see Rovers letting Aaron Collins go in January - Maybe in the Summer, but don't they have pretty rich owners themselves now?... Hence why they were able to go for Clarke-Harris - Only positive is that his Contract will be up in 2025.
He will cost a mill easy

Looking positive but I won't be relaxed until we sign a left wing back. We need competition and cover for that spot. Would be happy with a loan even a young kid from a prem club. If it enables us to play the system we want foe the rest of the season even if Edun gets injured then that will help us next year. Will also help with summer recruitment as we can say this is the role we want you to play.

IF we sign all 5 names mentioned (massive IF) and go 352 or a variation of:

    Isted Maynard-Brewer Ward

    Asiimwe Watson

Abankwah Edmonds-Green Elerewe Gillesphey Hector Jones Ness Thomas

    Blackett-Taylor Edun

Anderson Bakinson Camara Coventry Dobson Fiorini Fraser McGrandles Watson

Aneke Campbell Collins Ikpeazu Kanu Ladapo Leaburn May

you'd expect 6/7 outgoings at least to balance the books and the squad. We'd also be a left wingback light still in my opinion.

I'd imagine Abankwah gets sent back, Blackett-Taylor and Fraser get sold and Kanu, Elerewe, Campbell and Anderson to be candidates for loans out

Got to hand it to the SMT. I had my doubts but they seem to setting us up nicely for next season. Still don't think MA is the right man but understand its easier get players in now with a manager in charge than without.

Collins could certainly drum a tune out of this squad
  • Collins contract has 18 months left to run, if he is refusing to sign a new one Bristol Rovers may be keen to cash in before he enters his final 12 months and the associated downturn in his transfer value. I can't see us getting him but if we did would be a huge statement  of intent.

Would imagine once these deals are done the next week will be quiet on incomings. Really need to shift some bodies out
I hear Grassby's of Thirsk are good people who do fine work.

Let's see, can they get a striker, maybe even two strikers signed in time for tomorrow? Tick tock.

  • I was amazed Collins didn't heave Brizzle in the summer, and was expecting Championship interest in him as he was so good last season.

In retrospect, they should have cashed in on him then, as his value will have dropped

The 10 in a 3421 I'd get. Him and May behind Ladapo/Ikpeazu would be interesting. I'd be surprised if Appleton put him as the 10 in a 352 as he's shown he prefers having three standard midfielders in that role when he has the choice. Either way it's an exciting link

Maybe the Port Vale guy is a more reliable replacement for Chucks?

Not suggesting he’s better but perhaps injured less and will we pay up Chucks contract in the summer?

Collins would be an incredible signing. Him playing behind a front 2 of May and Leaburn (or Ladapo) should piss the league next season

                        NEW
            NEW Jones Gillesphey
    NEW   Coventry Dobson  NEW
                        Collins
                 Ladapo May

We get those 4 signings right in the summer, we win the league.

We won’t pay up Aneke’s contract, it would be a stupid thing to do! What’s the point in paying him all the money he’s owed and him not playing for us, might as well pay him the money he’s owed and use him when he’s fit

I personally think Corey leaving will bring out the best in Tayo Edun.

Corey's inability and unwillingness to offer ANY defensive assistance often leaves Tayo overloaded so wingback will probably suit him as he'll have a left sided centre back to cover him when he goes forward as long as we have sufficiently smart and mobile  central midfielders to drop in and cover any gaps that may leave.
That second half against Peterborough was very decent to watch and gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, we might be on to something with a 3-5-2

    Colour me excited
Very much a Johnny Robinson type player

    Brilliant 😂

If we sign these players, and this bloke still can't pick up a win in 10 attempts, something is seriously wrong

Agree, said the same thing the other day, plus with CBT in front of him we haven't got to see much of his attacking play because Corey does it all himself.
