I personally think Corey leaving will bring out the best in Tayo Edun.
Corey's inability and unwillingness to offer ANY defensive assistance often leaves Tayo overloaded so wingback will probably suit him as he'll have a left sided centre back to cover him when he goes forward as long as we have sufficiently smart and mobile central midfielders to drop in and cover any gaps that may leave. That second half against Peterborough was very decent to watch and gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, we might be on to something with a 3-5-2

I agree, I think it’s a natural wing back as opposed to a full back. The only thing I’d like him to do more is whip in a cross, there were a few times when he checked back onto his right foot against P’Boro in the second half.
The position I’d be looking to strengthen in the summer is RWB. Not sure Watson is good enough.

I think they will be better suited to wing back, we will see over the next few months. But we will still need to sign AT LEAST one wing back in the summer. So might as well aim to bring in better than we have got

Watson is 27 in 2 months, and Edun is 26 before the end of the season. players closer to 30 than 20 are not young players. I think both are fine as squad players but if we want to challenge at the top we need better next season.

If they take the piss then this could be one for the summer when he’s only got 12 months left
I can see there being a lot more competition looking to sign him then, if they really want him, would be best to go after him now and just paying the premium.

100% - Neither are good enough if we want a strong promotion winning team next season and neither will cut it in the Champ if we get there.

Interested to hear your thoughts @DubaiCAFC why do you think there has been such a change in approach/intent this month compared to the summer?
Has more money been put into the group? Did we underestimate what was needed and have now reassessed? Did one of the larger investors get the football bug and want to put more in?
All these signings are great but there's no good having a formula one car if your going to get Mr Bean to drive it.
I think Mr Bean will have to have a really good points return from now until the end of the season to show that he is the man to deliver promotion next season. Currently 19 points off the play off positions if I were the SMT I'd want us to finish within 6 points of them at the end of the season for him to be in charge for the start of next season (although even then I still wouldn't be convinced he is the man for the job but the SMT might).
