If Ladapo and Ikpeazu both sign, a summer sale of Leaburn with the potential profit made would be a good bit of business overall on the striker front. Ladapo , May, Chuks , Ikpeazu and Kanu would be a very strong L1 strike force even taking into account Chuks probable limited availability.
Ladapo and Ikpeazu will only be till end of the season I suspect.. Leaburn will be here in Aug for the new season
With Hector out I'm assuming that if we do go for a back 3 then it will be some combination of REG, Jones and Gillesphey with Ness and Thomas as the back up. Which honestly doesn't look too bad on paper, 2 out of 3 are promotion winners from this league.
All 3 will be here next season too as well so unless one of them turns out to be horrendous we hopefully won't have to do a full restock in summer either.
Would imagine that Elewere is probably lined up for a loan if we can and maybe offers for Thomas will be entertained too.
If we're now committed to 3 at the back I'd be worried just leaving Ness as backup for 3 spots.
I've enjoyed CBT's time here. You would think he failed to perform!
If CBT goes, while it's frustrating to lose a good player, it's actually one the club will have done well on for once - sign a guy for free, he does well, get a fee before he's due to leave on a free.
Of course if Dobson leaves you could technically say the same.
I don't know about everyone else and I know its early days yet and no guarantees etc but I am bloody pleased we seem to be making moves for players in higher divisions
Don’t know why we’re getting excited about the strikers we meant to be signing we will still probably only play one up front 😬 it’ll be ikpeazu up front on his own May and ladapo on the wings. What a waste.
Nothing personal Showme but this notion that you play 3 up front and two are hogging the touchline should only be used if you have class wingers and a number 8 and 10 who can support the central striker in the box. Otherwise one of the wider front 3 should always support the CF in the box when the ball is coming in from the other side. I managed to get a young group to understand this concept if we ever changed from the twin striker approach.
Adkins tried the wide approach with Washington too far wide on the left channel and DJ on the right flank at the beginning of his last season. Unfortunately the attacking midfielders couldn't support Stockley and with the change of manager Conor and Jayden played closer together in a 2 and Stockley did score a few goals TBF.
Play a system to suit the players you have was stated again in a podcast with Warnock and Crouch/Sidwell I heard last week.
With CBT leaving then a possible change might happen but flexibility is key in the modern game but players have to be comfortable in whatever formation is selected and no reason professional teams who get many hours on the training patch can't change formations mid-game.
Having a read on Twitter you would have thought we had thought we let him go for nothing. Yes it’s a shame he’s gone but we got a decent fee and we look like we’re playing a different system moving forward. All the signs so far are positive, hopefully just a taste of what summer will be like

Getting soem money for CBT that allows us to change the system seems like a good plan.
Hope this helps Dobbo take the deal and be part of the re-group.
Looking forward to seeing how he deals with CBT when we play Derby twice in Feb.
Gutted to see him go, but all the best for the future.
I think I'll just call him Reg.
Not great to know we've got to face him twice next month !
Yep, good move for all parties.
Elerewe I agree may well go back out.

But I heard both are done now, will be confirmed soon.
