I've enjoyed CBT's time here. You would think he failed to perform!
If CBT goes, while it's frustrating to lose a good player, it's actually one the club will have done well on for once - sign a guy for free, he does well, get a fee before he's due to leave on a free.

Agreed. Well done Thomas Sandgaard :-)

Can we expect another announcement at 5?
  • How much is the CBT transfer fee?
Undisclosed but Ronnie will be along in a minute to tell us the exact details.

Quite clever to change to a winger-less formation right before we lose one of our best players. Can justify it more with the shape change
Although there is no goals in the midfield , nothing potent from the wing backs , and weaknesses in goal and in defence .  I wager Appleton ditches 352 quickly and then gets the sack.  We don’t have any cover for Edun at LWB- ideally we sign someone better .
  • I don't know about everyone else and I know its early days yet and no guarantees etc but I am bloody pleased we seem to be making moves for players in higher divisions :D
AND players with decent experience and mainly in their mid twenties.

Some "older" heads on the pitch IYKWIM.

Feeling relieved that I backed Rodwell after hearing what he had to say in the recent online Q & A.  Took quite a leap of faith & walking the walk still had to be proven but it seems to be coming together nicely.

Whether MA is the man to lead this group of players onwards & upwards remains to be seen but it should all become clear by the end of April.

T.Watson could play left wing back if required (he played there for MK), with Asiimwe or REG playing on the right. There's also Gillesphey who could potentially do a job there, and even Campbell might be an option there with a strong player at LCB behind him.

Not sure a direct alternative for Edun is top priority at the moment
  • Any more today by any chance  .

£600k bid accepted from Derby for CBT according to League 1 news on Twitter.
    Wasn’t true though.

There we go. worked out sell on clause and how much cash we are getting up front.
He wanted to go back home, soon as Derby come knocking would always be tough, no matter how much money on the table.

Gutted to see him go, but all the best for the future.
Do you have any idea on the fee?
    350-400k
Any bonuses if / when he gets call for England etc?

No striker signing announced by 6pm and we’ll have to allow some of the biggest pessimists to start speculating the moves have fallen through.

Between 400,000 / 500,000 plus nice sell on clause

Good luck to the fella. Paid for his own expenses when he came to us on trial apparently. Great player on his day but for me too inconsistent.
  • Loved watching CBT but 400k if true is pretty decent business all things considered.

6 months left on his deal and a change in formation for us to get the best out of May means he wouldn't fit into the new system. (Certainly we wouldn’t see the best of him if playing as a wing back anyway)

  • I'll be sad to see CBT go, but I'm not convinced he will make the step-up to the Championship, should Derby get there.

So, let me get this right, Derby County a club currently sitting in 3rd place in League 1, whereas we sit 13th, have paid up  to £1/2 million, for their number 1 target, or as you put it just a few days ago, one of the worst players in our history!! Derby must be stupid!!  :D

Would love it if we left it right up to the last minute to announce any other signings via the team sheets tomorrow - would play havoc with Burton's pre-match plans

Dare I say it Hector maybe, or Lloyd Jones?

Anyone know who took over the Captain's armband when Dobbo went off on Saturday?

Alfie was wearing the armband at the end of the match
  • I’m hoping that the armband moves to one of the centre backs. I always think team captains are better suited to central defenders than midfield and certainly attackers.
