Or if you insist in having a meaty hot drink, have something like a can of cream of chicken soup in a thermos, or a nice Asian broth.

Bovril, alongside things like Spam, belong in the history books and nowhere else
How dare you. Spam are great innovators

  • Lovely drink Bovril
  • Is it the law that Bovril has to be served as hot as molten lava?

Yes. You use it as a hand warmer for fifteen minutes then it's ready to drink.
  • I should really have it after my floats through the winter.
Its the perfect drink at half time under the lights at The Valley ♥️
  • Bovril as a drink is ok but not a fan of marmite. If it's going to be on buttered toast then it's got to be Vegimite.

  • ...Along with Marmite while you're at it...🤢
I love Marmite. Butter first on slightly warm toast (too hot and your toast goes soggy). Thinly spread Marmite, and top with thinly sliced cucumber. Yum.
  • After all that, I had a coffee tonight

Nope,  not going to ask that question.🫣

Under normal circumstances this would get a 🤢, but I have Covid so wouldn't taste it anyway.

Just wondered for our international fans. Does Bovril exist in football stadiums and other sports stadiums across the world?
    Or is uniquely British?
I've had Bovril in Madrid, which I was surprised to see.

Does anyone else drink hot marmite in the same way as Bovril, or am I weird?
i've often asked myself the same question, so at least you're not the only one.

Found Marmite (made locally I think) in Sri Lanka, which I was also surprised at

I love marmite and peanut butter but that stuff is disgusting.

Aldi do their own version of Marmite which is lovely and much easier to spread than normal marmite.
  • Bovril is lovely on a cold day. I'll hear no more of these aspersions.
  • A break from work
    A welcome sight
Hot beefy Bovril sets you right
    Perks you up
    Warms right through
    Helps you through the day

(or quite similar). Anyone else remember this? Probably from about 1980

I dread to think what modern day ‘street ‘version some marketing agency would chuck out today to attract a younger drinker

Life is dark, packin no doe
    This ain’t no drill, bro
    Time’s 5th gear, go.
    Hoxton crew they chime
    Suffocated in vex n crime,
Blind to the route from cave like grime.
    No brawlin, no bawling
A hot meaty drink is ya destination callin
    Warm inside, calm n ease
Kick start to bringing home those Ps
    Are you ok ?
  • Ha, yeah been a long week :-)
