Happy Christmas to Lifers, who suffer together
By watching our heroes as they fail to chase leather
We all want promotion, to reward our endeavor
But we're stuck in League One for what seems like forever
We've craved - for some years - a generous buyer
To replace the old Belgian and the Night-meire, his liar
Along came Matt Southall, reality denier
But we stuck to our job: the Covered End choir
Happy Christmas to predictors of
each week's league fixtures To the Lifers who post their
spectacular pictures To the boozers whose tipples are
outrageous mixtures And to those who have comments on
UEFA's strictures Happy Christmas to those for whom there's one
Summer sport To those who've shown
help,
good wishes and
support ...when Lifers need
aid or
advice or
face court And to everyone contributing to each post-match report
Happy Christmas to
Statbank and the scorers of Apple
...whose marks make the page look like a dalmation dapple
To Lancs Lad who's had to numerically grapple
With numbers for players since the days of Phil Chapple
To the
TV suggestions, set out by our Beds
To the terrible jokes which deserve
their own threads To the Lifers who share their
festive grub spreads And even to those who fetishise
sheds The new year's upon us and
change is in place
There's talk of
promotion - although not with straight face
But we're solvent. And happy. And
still in the race.
So now, like the Valley, CL's a great place.
Merry Christmas everyone. And a spectacularly happy new year.

I always think it’s important to remember this can be a hard time of year for a lot of people for various reasons, so hopefully the collective goodwill of everyone on here and the messages that follow, can spur you on into 2024
If you're struggling with anything please reach out to me via message if you'd like, or use the plentiful national support networks available, it's not always an easy time.
And be thankful you're not Australian, these wally's still sell Christmas cards depicting snow coverered winter wonderlands, and it's 37 degrees here today! 🤣🤦🏻♂️😉
Best wishes,
Christian.
Charlton Athletic has been the one constant in my life since I was 8yrs old
For me it’s been worth every minute, from being a star stuck kid who every time he
kicked a ball he was in an imaginary Charlton kit, to watching my son play for his play for his place in the academy. But sadly not quite being good enough.
But I would not swap any one of you.
Once again I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and happy healthy new year.
COYRS!!
Merry Christmas everyone
to all Lifers a happy Christmas and a healthy new year
Your kind thoughts and prayers have been so thoughtful, as were all the lovely cards that you sent.
To those of you on here who also have this terrible disease or friends and family who do, can I wish you an especially peaceful Christmas!
This forum, despite the disagreements that sometimes occur, is made up of extremely special people and we all want the same outcome, a team that can compete, show heart and get out of this terrible league!!
However, I would just like to finish with OUR mantra -
Live, Love, Laugh and Be Happy xxx
Have a good'un everyone xx
Cheers
Malc
...One And All...🎅
Well, Bearsted, but you get the sentiment
Merry Christmas everyone 😄🍷
Let's hope the New year brings us something to cheer
Had hoped with Sandgaard departing that a lift in supporting the club may materialise, so it’s been disappointing in that respect. Surely next year will be better, won’t it???
Cant help but reflect it’s been a difficult year community wise. We’ve sadly lost Cardinal Sin and JohnfromNorfolk who were both much respected posters, and it’s sad Johnnysummer5 can no longer post due to ill health. There’s also been far too much cancer impact this year, but the support being provided is inspiring.
Much Love to everyone, health and happiness to you and your families. See some of you at The Valley tomorrow and Orient on Boxing Day.
Up the Addicks
It was Christmas Eve babe,
In the North Stand.
My old man said to me:
"Won't see another win."
And then he sang a song,
The Addams Family one!
I turned my face away
And dreamed of Wembley.
Another owner's gone,
Taken that bloody song.
I got a feeling
This year's for me and you
So Happy Christmas!
I love you Lifers,
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true.
We've good beer in the bar
And we've got Valley Gold,
But we've got a defence
That is peppered with holes.
When you first brought me here
On a cold Tuesday eve
You promised we'd get to the Premier League.
What a game!
Did a golfie!
Even Brownie weren't sulky,
Miles Leaburn was playing,
We felt we could score.
Corey Blackett on fire
(Though the ref was still dire),
We scored from a corner
And danced through the night.
The boys of the Valley faithful choir were seeing us
Win away
And the crowd were singing out for Alfie May!
You can't play!
You've no pace!
You complete waste of space!
You're a terrible team and your boss is a meme.
Your midfield is stale,
Lost at home to Port Vale!
Merry Christmas indeed
As we're stuck in this league
The boys of the Valley faithful choir were seeing us
Win away
And the crowd were singing out for Alfie May!
We could've been someone
Supported anyone
Not had to base our dreams
On injured cast-offs
But now it's Christmastime
Your dreams still match my own
We'll get some decent loans
And scrape into the play-offs
The boys of the Valley faithful choir still seeing us
Win away
And the crowd was singing out for Alfie May!
RIP Shane.
Merry Christmas all.
Happy Christmas and prosperous New year to one and all.
(Maybe we could all add our New Year's resolution ? Mine being to find that elusive, much missed Tingle. Searched high & low- mainly low- to no avail !
Such kind words in messages keep us inspired on our darkest days which seem to come more often as like us our dogs get older, with JJ approaching 10 years old we are monitoring his health with a sudden loss of condition an obvious sign something was not right, we started exercising him with the younger dogs to see if that helps and its given him a little bit of energy back.
My two pals "Compo and Clegg" struggling with their health issues puts my aches and pains into perspective and kicks me up the arse when I need it most and our love is sent to them in daily messages via WhatsApp and any other Charlton fans with health issues I wish you well.
A post from without a customary dogs photo wouldn't be the same.
Much love from us all.
