Is it that time of year again so soon? Goodness. Better get myself off to the BP garage (other big oil companies are available)
Well, have a good one each and everyone and I hope 2024 brings you good health!
Edit - I'm especially looking forward to this year's 'Rate my Plate.' As with all these types of competition, the standards just seem to get better year on year when you don't imagine improvement on perfection is possible
It was Christmas Eve babe, In the North Stand. My old man said to me: "Won't see another win." And then he sang a song, The Addams Family one! I turned my face away And dreamed of Wembley.
Another owner's gone, Taken that bloody song. I got a feeling This year's for me and you So Happy Christmas! I love you Lifers, I can see a better time When all our dreams come true.
We've good beer in the bar And we've got Valley Gold, But we've got a defence That is peppered with holes. When you first brought me here On a cold Tuesday eve You promised we'd get to the Premier League.
What a game! Did a golfie! Even Brownie weren't sulky, Miles Leaburn was playing, We felt we could score. Corey Blackett on fire (Though the ref was still dire), We scored from a corner And danced through the night.
The boys of the Valley faithful choir were seeing us Win away And the crowd were singing out for Alfie May!
You can't play! You've no pace! You complete waste of space! You're a terrible team and your boss is a meme. Your midfield is stale, Lost at home to Port Vale! Merry Christmas indeed As we're stuck in this league
The boys of the Valley faithful choir were seeing us Win away And the crowd were singing out for Alfie May!
We could've been someone Supported anyone Not had to base our dreams On injured cast-offs But now it's Christmastime Your dreams still match my own We'll get some decent loans And scrape into the play-offs
The boys of the Valley faithful choir still seeing us Win away And the crowd was singing out for Alfie May!
RIP Shane. Merry Christmas all.
Can you imagine the covered end choir belting that out! Even the idea of it brings a tear to the eye.
Bravo @Jonniesta, RIP Shane, and Merry Christmas to all you long suffering Charlton fans.
The house is clean, tidy and ready for tomorrow. My sausage rolls are in the oven and have just sat down with a beer to watch the Polar Exoress with the family. Have a good one all
Just caught up with this thread. Wanted to wait until until nearer the moment before reading it. Some lovely posts here by lots of Lifers, but I have to say hats off to Chizz and Jonniesta for their magnificent worsmithery.
Merry Christmas everyone. At least tomorrow we won't have to watch Charlton!
But now tomorrow is match day 😩
*Santa spoiler alert* Mrs JS has just tested positive for covid. Just getting her stocking ready, so will now have to sneak it into the spare bedroom when she’s asleep.
I hope that the day brings you everything that you could wish for, or at least only the most limited of family feuds over the wrapping paper and Trivial Pursuit.
Sadly, Santa's been giving me a miss for a while, I think his nose was put out by his struggles to open the wood burning stove from the inside...
