It isn't getting any better. These are two big girls with big levers and we are just bowling in their arc the whole time. I'm surprised that the point of difference of Bell's pace hasn't been utilised to date.
Edit - Bell actually opened and went for 14. I must have been watching the racing at the time!
Lack of captain on the pitch is showing, as with Pope deputising for the men’s test team. Fields are all wrong and not quite the right bowlers at the right time either
England were 1.07 (1/14) at one point. With the score on 44-0 off 4 they are 2.64 (13/8)
The Windies are 1.04 now. Some serious fingers burnt on Betfair with £138,000 matched at that 1.07 and almost £5m matched at 1.12 and less. Much of that will be regurgitated money but many serious backers will have had thousands on to win relative pennies.

I do agree with you but Sciver-Brunt, with almost 250 internationals to her name, is experienced enough to lead. It's the dropped catches that have really killed us especially those in the PP because, had they been taken, then we would have had enough time to reign them back.
Matthews decides to come out in sympathy with England and gives Gibson a chance to catch her. Two new batters at the crease but the only realistic way we can win is if the Windies get themselves out.
Can I add, Alex Hartley is maybe the worst cricket commentator of all time. I say this as someone who's usually in favour of there being more women commentators (Urooj Mumtaz in the Test earlier being excellent for example)
A run out but, with 6 runs needed off 18 balls, it is game over
Or perhaps not. Ecclestone bowls Dottin and two batters that haven't faced a ball are in. We would have absolutely walked this had we held a couple of those early catches.

Oh that's Lydia Greenway lmao. I was thinking she didn't sound quite right. She's also bad

You were right to question yourself - one's a Lancastrian and the other's from, down the road, Orpington!

Fine. When I spotted some semi-articulate magnanimity towards the WI, I realised it couldn't be Hartley actually
That was a shocker of a performance by the English women and the fielding and catching were as poor as I have seen from this group of players.
Had bad luck with Heather Knight retiring hurt and winning 3 out of 4 but you have to play better than that under pressure and the Windies were outstanding and smashed the English bowlers from ball 1.
Aamer Jamal, is on 31* (59) but appears to be struggling with a hip injury. If that prevents him from bowling then Pakistan will have an all spin attack.

Until today, this is awful
