Turns out Paul Elliott looks both up and down.

He won’t admit it, but I’ll let you know a little secret.

Sometimes he also looks left and right
Come on, no politics please. You know the rules.

Elliot is speaking management 101 stuff, the other two are making fair points. Our failures stem from poor ownership behaviour since 2007 and the recruitment of Dowie. 17 years of this can't be turned around overnight. They are not really putting objective targets out there, with the exception of 8 +8+8 so we are still having to trust them.
Getting a bit tired of that one! Could actually be turned around in one decent summer transfer window.
Yes, but having the people and the structure to actually do a decent transfer window is exactly what we haven't had. We have had Southall and Sandgard's boy and ridiculous so called managers and coaches from Europe.
I think it's just management waffle to make excuses for poor recruitment. They are the owners, they knew they were taking over this club, they could have had people ready to go. And if they didn't, they should do now because it certainly doesn't take years.

A fool and his donkey could've told them the squad wasn't good enough when the Summer window shut - that wasn't a structure problem.
    This.

I can concede that they dudnt have a lot of time before the summer window shit but since then they've had 4 months in which to assess the squad, scout new players, talk to agents & have players lined up to join on Jan 2nd.

But all we seem to have done is send back one lot of injured/useless players and signed another in their place. Bakinson may be different but I still doubt he will start Saturday & last 90 mins.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Elliot. In terms of diversity in the first team squad, we have that already but maybe there are other areas we need to look at within the club, I honestly don't know, that sounds like his job. But the challenge is not making the first team more diverse, rather making it better.

  • Get rid of Elliott. Sad but it's just empty wordage.

Aren't we at the maximum currently allowed in a squad anyway? (Watson,Camara,Chem, Fiorini and Bakinson)
Ahh so CBT and Doddo leaving them.

    Sad news about Dobbo.
I love him, one of the few pleasures in watching our team, our heartbeat.

    Significant transfer budget followed by
January is usually loans not permanent deals
Bromley Addicks all said sell Dobson and CBT if they won't sign deals
The injured players will be like new players

If that was the executive team at a company that employed me I'd be updating my CV and looking to get out pronto. Fuck the share options, they'd be worthless in no time. I wonder if any investors will watch this. A thoroughly unimpressive bunch.
If Charlie got paid in shares then he's swindled himself!

Hardly. If he does it in a culturally diverse and environmentally accountable manor he'll bang on about it until the cows come home!

It’s like being at any corporate team event / presentation frankly.

Just words and little of substance

will finish with ‘we are all in this together ’ and ‘we need you to play your part’ etc.

It sounds to me that Elliot has football input too which is a good thing seeing the career he had.
  • Pointless Charlton fans contacting Greenwich councillors, seeing that the ones needing to park near Charlton don't live there.

Elliott's hands are ridiculously large. He must be very proud of them the way he waves them about.

Rodwell - "if Dobbo & CBT won't sign the offered contracts, everyone at Bromley Addicks said they should be sold".

    Err, no they did not.
One person was asked and said that & whilst no one shouted out, no one else really made a comment in agreement or disagreement.

And now Gavin is saying we don't want to rely on loan players...

    Thoroughly confused

Rodwell transparently trying to downplay expectations for this January window. No surprise there

I've not seen a January loan do anything...ever. And we've had lots of them.

The summer loans like JRS, Gallagher, Cullen & Beilik turned out to he good but we've also had loads of duds too.

How much would it cost to replace them? And if we lose them, how do we get 8 elite L1 players. I reckon we will have May and need 7 more if they went. Whilst I think we should be aiming for more than 8, it would be a tough ask getting 6 from that starting point.

Rodwell say they weren't aware of what Senda had been accused of, that strikes me as being remarkably incurious for a management team.
Utter bollocks. The FA would have informed them when he was invited to a disciplinary panel. That even happens at grassroots level.
Oh no, he said they'd been informed of the disciplinary, but not the nature of the allegations. Which obviously leads to the question "well why didn't you ask then?"
I still find that hard to believe.
  • Shame it isn't in person. The disastrous Katrien Meire presentation-lecture was in a tense atmosphere, revealing for all the wrong reasons, as well as being mildly amusing for the sheer lunacy of it all.

This is on the other hand, is incredibly tedious and without substance, as expected.
