@Manic_mania I hate to tell you this, but the spellcheck has done you over here. If you're suffering from cynicism, then you're a cynic, you don't need the -ist bit at the end.
  • Dream big.

    It’s happening.

    The good times are back.

  • No not for me,recs we will finish between 8th & 11th this time out, there is too many points to catch up on…all about next season,so let’s hope for a few winning runs, some more good additions to the squad & a style of play that suits the players we have & that MA can just tweak & adjust when needed,to end this season on a high, then it’s all about the 24/25 season…Automatics…!!!

30/1 with Paddy Power, and that’s about right.
Yesterday top 6 was 100/1 on Bet 365 and promotion was 400/1.
Today it’s 66/1 and 250/1 so obviously one or two people think it’s possible.

Surely no one thinks this is possible. We will be nowhere near but the signings are good progress towards a playoff push next season

It was down tp 30/1 and 66/1 respectively on Paddy Power today.

    Jeez, Paddy Power sucks.

We’ve shortened to best price 5/4 for today against Burton. Crazy price when we’ve only won once away all season.
  • My target was that we would be five points off at this stage. Clearly nineteen off means we have no chance.

I just wish we could have brought these players in before Burton at home. I am sure they would have got us within the target range.

  • No
We are fur coat and no knickers.
  • Happy to avoid relegation.
  • I think we can close this thread now we are 2 down at Burton.
  • Should have been closed weeks ago
  • I think we’re going to find the playoffs a bit of a stretch at the moment.
  • This becomes more hilarious with every passing day of January!

We are entirely facing a relegation battle. There are teams in the bottom four NOW who have won just as few games as we have.

What have our board decided to do? ~ sell the only player we had that unlocked league one defences every week!!!

Today (Burton away) we had 70% possession and yet no end product. Why? Because the only player we had that unlocked League one defences was sold!!!

  • No, Even Appleton can’t finish the season between 4th-8th in the division below.
  • (2013 thread resurrected for wishful thinking)
  • I said I admired the optimism of those saying it was possible last night. It now looks like delusion.

  • We now need to win every single game remaining just to catch Oxford's current points per game.

Wont have to wait long until it is mathematically impossible. Usually you need around 75/76 points to get 6th. This season I reckon it will be closer to 80 points - currently Oxford in 6th are on course for 86 points!!

Blackpool in 8th are on track for 74 points.

  • Not a chance with Appleton at the helm

We could have bloody Pep in charge and we wouldn’t make the playoffs from this position.
  • Playoffs here we come.

    And ?

Not a chance with this board of woke numpties at the helm. A hot air balloon. Has the Hindenberg written all over it.

Sorry but how the absolute hell is the board “woke”? Or is this just just standard throw away insult?!? Go on, give me one example of board “wokeness” and explain how it has contributed to our league position?? I can’t even fathom who they are let alone decipher their views of political and social issues. Difficult enough to get them to talk about football….

Bad enough having to put up with political threads on the main forum without having it woven into the narrative on football!

By the way the Hindenburg was an airship full of hydrogen….
  • Nope, more chance of Elf and AFKA having a growth spurt BUT we can lay the foundation and stepping stones to make this Charlton house more attractive so people will want to visit and cherish the refit and once the roof stops leaking we have a chance to see the "green shoots" 🤦🏻‍♂️ of recovery not only in the garden but all over the house.
We have to trust Capability Scott to deliver the home sweet home. We do have some more weeds to get rid of first and the 'Apples' tree is still looking a tad shabby so may have to go in the Spring.
The new January windows seem an upgrade so brick by brick 🧱 hopefully our defence to the elements are an improvement. 🏠🏡

I'd love a spurt of any kind.
