  • 2.0 down and just going through the motions.

Ness is shocking. Wouldn't be starting games for any other team in this league.
I am hoping he can get a loan. He looked decent last season. I always expected him to regress, but he's regressed so much, and I think some of that is just not playing at a formative time in his career. But yeah, he's been awful when he has played.

If (when) we lose today I think that gives Appleton five points out of the last 30.  We would also be in effect at least 18th (given Wycombe-Port Vale postponement) and Reading are better than their points-deducted position suggests. I have never really thought we would go down to League 2, even in the dark days of Duchatalet and Sandgaard. Now I really worry it is a real possibility.
The thought of having to play Morecambe and Grimsby next season does not bear thinking about.
You mean lose to Morecombe and Grimsby
  • There can be no middle ground. Fail to win and he simply has to go and the fans have to force it through.

Please tell me everyone now realises we are fighting relegation now. What the fuck was the clueless ‘this is a mid table going nowhere season’ shit all about? I mean - fucking hell.
Pardew got a sit in protest for less
  • So Appleton must've recommended Fiorini.

We are 2 down away from home. We need an attacking spark. No Fiorini.

    It's very confusing.
  • Away end chanting ‘He’s got no clue’ and they’re not wrong
  • Sorry but it looks like Kanu time in place of Freddie, who is having a very quiet second half...we just need a spark from somewhere...
  • I feel like we’re going to score less goals in this system
  • we look awful now

Upside, we will miss out on the wrexham story

Throw in their half and our instinct at 2-0 down is to play it back to our box. What is the point

Confidence is shot unfortunately. The Burton second goal killed anything we had left.

    Still no subs?
    Crazy!
  • It’s almost like the players aren’t playing for the manager
It's not a lack of effort though, it's a lack of organisation. And defensive competence.

I just cannot see them sacking him when they’ve just brought in new players, expect he’ll get a couple more games. Not sure the defence will change that much unfortunately.
I can see him being sacked in mid February
It’s too bloody late by then

Have we got players on the bench who aren’t fit or something?
  • Odds on Appleton squaring up to a fan after the game?
    Slim to none
If some oaf started poking him in the chest and giving him a few home truths he might react, a bit
But the disinterested grifter knows his cash is in the bank come what may, he's a million miles away from giving a toss about his job, let alone the fans
It's irrelevant if he's actually any good at his job, he simply doesn't care.
We're an hour in to getting humiliated and he's doing nothing about it
Burton have brought on someone called Beryl and will now inevitablye shut up shop, 'managing' the hell out of the remaining half hour, slowing things down, getting 'injured', breaking up play and tucking away the softest easiest 3 point they'll get their whole careers - MA doesn't give a shit
  • Maybe some subs might help..
  • Bit of a heavy pass back from Cov to Ness

  • No leadership/communication in that back 3/5 we signed 2 defenders from the division above and put them on the bench wtf
  • I'm pretty much done with MA at this point. Any manager that can't see this needs a change is not worth having.
  • Got to feel Appleton is looking to be sacked to get a payout. Dire stuff.

That mistimed clearance from their defender says it all. We get a throw midway in their half, throw it back, pass it back and again leaves us floundering on the edge of our box and we concede a throw out wide panicking to defend. Utterly awful and no attacking threat in midfield to challenge a very mediocre side.
  • Expected more from Coventry today after last weeks cameo.

Probably only fit enough for 10 minutes

Could play 90 mins by April if we're lucky
  • A good manager would bring on 3 subs now to change the mood on the pitch
  • First half there was effort and a plan, a bit slow but you could see what they were trying to do.  Second half it is has been abject.
  • Absolutely no urgency here whatsoever.
What the f**k is going on?
  • So, what's Appleton's excuse  going to be tonight?
