Id be more than happy with Nathan Jones.

But if the chat about Warnock is true then 18 months of him around this club would change our fortunes. Just watched him on Tubes golf channel, what a ledge.

One of those managers who must have loads of great stories. Love his one about taking the team bowling. https://youtu.be/FwTARWMqCug?si=1-PjjBNBO-pX9VfH

Bloke would put so many big time Charlie’s in their place it would do wonders.
  • I don’t think it would ever happen but our only hope is someone that (as I worded it) gives an adrenaline shot akin to CPR. We need that before we start gambling on a long term strategic fit

In that basis, Warnock ticks the boxes.

Rumours that Jones has turned us down! On the forum that shall not be named.

Rowett currently on Sky Deadline Day.

See, he can travel South. Perhaps after his stint he's meeting Scott & Rodwell...🤞

If Jones has turned us down hopefully it will lead us to Warnock.

However, it could suggest Jones is not happy with the involvement from Scott so where would that leave us getting somebody decent?

It’s going to be Fleming to the end of season, isn’t it?

Getting more likely with each passing day...and candidate...

    Wouldn’t have thought that.

Or we are poles apart on remuneration and this is all a smokescreen of how far we have advanced.

Feels a little bit silly to spend this long to then pick what then may be a ‘short term’ appointment.
  • Warnock really?

Not sure about Jones but if it’s a decline other than money then it’s an issue

Rowett the same, get a proper manager in ffs

Pay them show them the ambition

Scott needs to up his game and if gets this wrong then ta da

If Jones has turned us down, and we end up with Warnock, we’ll be back on the carousel mid summer, and in a worse situation trying to recruit players and a manager.

The lack of serious long term thinking since appointing Dowie is stupefying.
  • What a total balls up and embarrassment this is becoming...

Best of a bad bunch I'd say. Comes over well in interviews / press conferences and is no billy big bollox.

Wouldn't surprise me as it's what I suspected would happen
  • This is perhaps why it would have been wise to scout around for a Manager before sacking Appleton

Its no secret a lot of clubs take that approach these days, its how they're able to get someone new in so quickly, and avoid going weeks without a man in charge - We could also have had a better Deadline Day, with players "knowing" who the Manager is.

Just have to wait and see from more Official sources to see if this is true or not
"these days", it's been like that for years.  Sadly not in SE7 nowadays.

Btw the Jones turned us down stuff doesn’t seem to have come for anyone with a track record on either forum

I know its a bit different as Klopp has announced his departure

But could you imagine Liverpool waiting till the Summer before deciding to search for their next Manager?
  • Whoa there. Firstly we don’t know that Jones is out and secondly even if we he is and we go with Warnock we don’t know that it wouldn’t be longer than this season. Let’s just see what happens before we slit our wrists.

It's so incompetent, that it almost feels deliberate.

How these types of characters keep getting jobs in football I can't understand.

Happy to eat my words as it means Charlton progress, but nothing has changed.

Why would Jones risk a possible relegation with a league 3 team when he was a previously a Premier league Manager?

If he comes I'd be amazed but with Charlton anything is possible.

  • Just get Warnock in on an 18 month deal. No one better to keep us up and go for it next year. Absolute no brainier

League 3?! We might win that at least...
