Why did Ireland kick the ball with a minute to go? It cost them the game. Poor decision.
It’s just the way it’s done now. I was screaming ‘up the jumper’ as old school it would just be keep ball & see it out. But no, he kicked it. Feck. Game over. I just don’t get modern rugby 🤷♀️
The one downside of today's match is that - however unlikely - it's possible that England could win the championship ahead of Ireland. That would not be a fair reflection of the two teams, as Ireland should (will) win the Six Nations, deservedly.
Perhaps today we saw one yeah plateauing and another improving.
If Ireland drop the ball to such an extent that this even becomes possible I would argue that Ireland would actually not deserve to win. Ireland would need to lose at home against Scotland without picking up a bonus point whilst we would have to win away at France and pick up a bonus point. That would leave us in the situation where, quite simply, we've won more games than Ireland and beaten Ireland. I'd say we'd have earned that 6 Nations title the hard way!
Can't see it happening though. Mind you, I couldn't see us beating Ireland so what do I know?
Really enjoyable rugby today, with the possible exception of Wales, just about everyone can take positives from the matches (even if only, in Dublin, that teams can play poorly but remain competitive, though the first half conditions were shocking).
Now to see how many of the four second tier games I can watch on a stream tomorrow (all of them at the same ground in Paris, so the going may be uneven by the fourth match)...

If you're winning in the last few minutes, keep possession if you can surely!

Pleased for Peter O’Mahoney, was an emotional day for him 💚
England gave it a good go but sadly fell marginally short today.
Congratulations to Ireland.
