It’s been dull as fuck following us most of the time in recent years , now we’re in a relegation battle , looking at all the other results and permutations is part of the excitement in football for me , competition they call it . When you’re pushing for promotion or looking to survive games involving the teams around you take on an extra significance and get the juices flowing . All the results from those teams down there matter to us and will combine to produce our survival target . Brushing it all off as if it matters not is bizarre , the fight for survival is on and of course I’d prefer midtable beige Charlton but this is gonna have more excitement than our recent dullard seasons even if it is for the wrong reasons of us being sooooooo shit .
Psychologically important to stay out of the bottom 4. If we get something out of the game tomorrow, we'll stay out of it even if Port Vale can beat Lincoln at home. For how long remains to be seen, with Derby and the following two games away.
The game at Cheltenham on Tuesday week is going to be hugely important.
If we were to match (or even better) the quality of performances in the second half of the Lincoln game and for the entire game against Bolton then I simply don't see us going down. In fact I'm anticipating a comfortable win over Portsmouth today and expect us to be pushing for promotion under NJ next season.
Cambridge United v Peterborough United Bristol Rovers v Carlisle United Burton Albion v Northampton Town Charlton Athletic v Portsmouth Exeter City v Fleetwood Town Port Vale v Lincoln City Reading v Shrewsbury Town Result from Yesterday:
Personally, I can’t see how anybody can look at that league table and think anything other than we are in deep shit.
Until we prove we can win multiple games, never mind just one, it looks grim.
But we have easy away games coming up at Fleetwood, Burton, Cheltenham, Shrewsbury. The fact we have won away once all season doesn't come into the equation

Still plenty of opportunities to double that then... What we've achieved in the past, doesnt necessarily dictate what'll happen in the future

The only way to stop these complaints is to actually win a game but I do feel very confident, having watched the growth of this NJ team, that’ll we get at least a couple of away wins between now and May.

I understand people getting caught up on the one away win, but this is a completely different team (personnel and mentality) to the one that we had until end of January. Those stats to me are largely irrelevant
At least Nathan is giving us some hope after nothing previously. If we fail to climb out of this mess then we deserve relegation but I think we have a chance.

Games today:
Cambridge United v Peterborough United
Bristol Rovers v Carlisle United
Burton Albion v Northampton Town
Charlton Athletic v Portsmouth
Exeter City v Fleetwood Town
Port Vale v Lincoln City
Reading v Shrewsbury Town
Result from Yesterday:
Wigan Athletic 1-1 Cheltenham Town
I have discounted Reading who I think will win today as they look too strong and I'm decent form.
We desperately need Shrews and those behind us to lose. The gap to the rest is already wide.
Posh goal identical to Small goal for us

Looks to be slowly becoming a bottom 5...

We will win games playing the way we have the last two Saturdays.
We aren’t Appleton’s Charlton anymore.
