I can't be certain, but reckon I saw him play at The Valley 14/10/75.
It was a league cup replay having drawn at Loftus Road.
QPR were runners up in Division 1 the previous season and had a great team.
Bowles, Gerry Francis, Dave Thomas, Givens, Clement was it Parkes in goal?
They beat us 0-3, an evening game with a 30,000 crowd.
I remember we could have walked back to Blackheath Standard quicker as the Charlton Road was gridlocked for about an hour.
Biggest traffic jam I ever saw post match.

RIP Stan a truly magical player.
That was some night - 30k plus crowd in the days when crowds were Understated.
We drew at QPR in the first game( another great night ) I think they was top of the old League at the time
    But yes RIP
    He was some player⚽️

    RIP

    Proper 1970's footballer

Birds, booze and gambling and a great player to boot.

Not so much the birds and booze. Betting a different story. My old man used to see him at The City in time for the first race....when Bowlesy was playing for Forest.

It didn’t matter who you supported, you liked a player of his quality, just as with his predecessor at Loftus Road, Rodney Marsh. RIP.
