You can tell how big a game the Superbowl is when you look at the attendance. This year it was only 12,000 short of the 2019 League One play-off final.
Probably about the capacity of the all indoor New Orleans stadium? Been there and what it lacks in size it made up for in noise. They have a decibel meter they flash up, around 105 i think
Those decibel meters don't count when the jumbotron is asking people to "make some noise".
The reality is that the atmosphere at Blackpool away was better than any NFL or College football game i've been to
You must have seen some fairly dire and untypical college football.
Crowds are often much bigger in the college game (there's a case to be made for it being more popular, in terms of fan interaction, than the NFL) and the atmosphere can be fantastic. College games have, in particular, the benefit of a mix of the very loud student bands and supporters as well as off campus fans. Even watching, for example, a HBCU marching band leave the stadium can be tremendous entertainment.
Would that an away fixture Blackpool could be anything like as good.
I went to a George Bulldogs game in September and once the bravado at the beginning was over, it was fairly soulless.
The problem is that the amount of commercials simply means the crowds can never get going. The commercial breaks in college football are even worse than the NFL.
