A month after losing our beloved Dexter, his dear old mum, Poppy, has also gone. In absolute bits when I found her dead this morning. Gone from 2 cats to none in the space of a month.
So sorry to hear your sad news Rizzo, losing a pet is so hard, but to lose both so close together must be even worse. Cats are such wonderful members of the family, losing them is very difficult, but you gave them lots of love, so hope that is of comfort to you.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I do take comfort from the fact that we took 3 cats (the other one, Pixie, died during lockdown) from a shelter and gave them a loving home. The 2 kittens were also very fortunate to spend their entire lives with their mum, Poppy, although the flipside of that is that Poppy outlived her kittens and that's not something a parent should ever have to deal with. But they were all loved, had a safe, warm place to live, plenty of food and drink and were free to come and go as they pleased.
Will be looking to get a couple of kittens at some stage but will give it a few months so they're not just replacements.

Your picture of Poppy shows a contented and well looked after sweet cat, you clearly gave her your best.
Daddy, I'm purring and I need attention.
Stop tapping my keyboard then you little git!
Dont ask me why, I mind went to Charlies Angels when I saw them on their tower of bedlem!
I adore cats; they almost become part of you.
Unfortunately, many of them do not have great lives. Yours did and you clearly enriched it.
Bless you both.
Thinking of you tonight, Rizzo.

They will be very fortunate kittens indeed.
