Oh @Lordflashheart that’s awful for all of you & especially your beloved Springer.
I’m sure your vet will do everything they can. Sending all my love.
Thank you - I reckon (at best) I had 3 hours sleep last night - and I do know it’s not the answer, but I am tucking into the Rioja tonight - just so down and sad
He’s only five and half years old
I’d be the same fella no doubt about it. Lost one of our goats yesterday, she was only 8 and in great condition until a week ago she showed signs of bloat. Tried all the treatments, stuck a pin in her stomach but no joy. No idea how she suddenly got it, had no access to feed to gorge on. Putting it down to eating wet grass. It’s been so wet here lately that we feel bad keeping them in that we put them out as soon as any sun appears. Can’t do right for doing wrong. You feel so helpless. Love to you my friend ❤️
Oh no ! Must have missed this earlier.
Bless her heart & sending love to you, lovely lady.
We have spent today desperately waiting for phone call from the Surgeon - things got so stressful I went to the pub for a few beers with my best mate !!
At around 5pm Surgeon rang me
Bodie went to theatre at 9am this morning - they operated on both front legs - took a bit longer than she expected for both legs - he came out of operating theatre around 3.30pm - then she waited for him to wake up
9am to 3.30pm 😳
HE IS FINE
Obviously drugged up to the eyeballs
The surgeon - a lovely French lady - was, I can only describe as, sounding incredibly proud of herself for what she did today - both operations went well
She said after he woke up he wagged his tail at her once he wasn’t so zonked (although still on massive amount of painkillers)
She will not let him try and walk tmrw
But Thursday she wants to try some ‘baby’ steps on a tiny little walk - and I mean tiny
Meanwhile, today his brother has been howling in distress - obviously missing his brother immensely - I wish I could explain things to him - he must be so confused
However he is now laying on my lap, snoring like a Sussex Pig, whilst I watch Car SOS
Phase one complete
Onwards
Thank you to those with such lovely comments previously - means a lot to me - my boys, well, I just love them so much, and last few days have torn me apart
I’m not a natural crying person, but fuck me I’ve cried shed loads last few days

Sounds like very good news. Praying Bodie makes a full recovery and will be back home with you all very soon.
My wife and I were out walking our two Borders this afternoon and we were talking about Bodie and wondering how he'd got on today so thanks for the very encouraging update. Thoughts with you all.
Great news, I remember when Bailey was diagnosed I stayed at the RVC until he woke up and was stable, then I got told he was being kept in overnight, I was told he would have electrolysis that afternoon and would be fed when fully awake.
I’d just arrived at Dartford tolls when a call told me he was awake and eating, I went through the tolls off at Dartford back through the tolls and back to Potters bar RVC and sort of kipped in the car park.
They’ll put you through hell and back, but there’s nothing you wouldn’t do for them.

When we bought Buster and Bodie, my plan was they would be called Bodie and Doyle - my daughter kicked off big time - no way she said - so we negotiated to Buster and Bodie
In fairness - perfect names for each of them
But Lewis Collins - in - Who Dares Wins - what a film, what an actor ‘live bastards, dead soldiers’ - what a cracking line in that film
If you are born early 70’s so grew up watching The Professionals - simply fantastic
Passed away far too young Lewis did - fully understand your 😍😍 for him

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to all whose pets are not well at the moment. We had a rushed trip to our vet on Friday after Pedge our Shi-Tzu got a piece of her chew stuck in her airway and was having problems breathing. Our vet was excellent as always and Pedge was back out and almost back to her old self within half an hour. She slept a lot that day.
But, as you can see in the picture the gangs back together again!

What a beautiful boy he is, glad he is on the mend. We've got a cavalier. I've never had a pet, never really wanted one, was sort of forced by my partner. But he has changed my life completely for the better. So when I see or hear about any pet in distress I can only sympathise.
Thank you so much for the update! And I’m so relieved that Buster will get checked too. Give Bodie a big kiss from his crazy goat Auntie for being such a brave boy ❤️

But pleased he looks to be on the up
Thank you - he and his brother are utterly gorgeous - he’s a lovely lad is Bodie, can be a stubborn sod at times - Surgeon called it right - we turn up, he was happy to do a little walk, and did a massive, and I mean massive, pee outside the hospital - his legs still very sore, but take a look at the amount of metal now in his front legs 😳
Best bit today - his tail wagged like crazy when he saw us
Worst bit, look on his face when we left him there - he would have thought he was going home

Onwards & upwards now for Bodie !
To quote Roy Keane ‘dogs don’t talk shit’
No side to them - just loyalty and love
If only human beings could all be like that ……….
In fairness - perfect names for each of them
