  • RIP Darcy

  • Lola has had her bits n pieces removed this morning.

Her face lit up when she was brought out of the vets, and I cried with relief.

    She's home now and sleeping.
    Borrowed one of your outfits?

  • An awful 48 hours here at Manor Flash - took my boys out for a walk yesterday at 11 - threw the ball - my boy Bodie ran after it with his brother Buster - Bodie leaped into the air, caught the ball in his mouth, landed and collapsed onto to ground yelping and crying

He has fractured both front legs - I didn’t know, but in recent years, Springer Spaniels have an emerging weakness in their front ‘elbows’

Can you imagine falling over, and putting your arms out, and breaking them at the same time

He is now in a specialist hospital in Essex - no doubt utterly confused, scared, and wants to be with his brother, mummy and daddy

We are devestated, I’ve cried so much last 2 days - leaving him at the hospital today, look on his face ‘please take me home daddy’

Vet highly experienced says she can mend him

Can only put our faith in her

I’m upset, scared, crying, desperate for this to turn out ok - my baby boy ……

@Lordflashheart, that’s awful news. But it sounds like he’s in good hands and it’s amazing what they can achieve these days. Stay strong. Hoping for a swift and full recovery for Bodie.

Thank you - just started crying again - miss my boy - just wish I could magic it away, but life ain’t like that, in reality it’s shit
  • Oh @Lordflashheart that’s awful for all of you & especially your beloved Springer.
I’m sure your vet will do everything they can.
    Sending all my love.

  • Saddened to read about Bodie.

Thank you - I reckon (at best) I had 3 hours sleep last night - and I do know it’s not the answer, but I am tucking into the Rioja tonight - just so down and sad

He’s only five and half years old
  • Oh no, that must be an awful shock for you all. I have a feeling it will be the same vet that my friend’s dog ended up in when he broke his leg. They were amazing.
Hoping you get some good news in the morning x
  • RVC Potters bar?
Take care of yourselves, he’s in great hands if that’s where he is.

I’d be the same fella no doubt about it.
Lost one of our goats yesterday, she was only 8 and in great condition until a week ago she showed signs of bloat. Tried all the treatments, stuck a pin in her stomach but no joy. No idea how she suddenly got it, had no access to feed to gorge on. Putting it down to eating wet grass. It’s been so wet here lately that we feel bad keeping them in that we put them out as soon as any sun appears.
Can’t do right for doing wrong.
    You feel so helpless.
Love to you my friend ❤️

My thoughts are with you - awful - sending fellow ‘we love our animals’ love
  • Hope Bodie on the mend soon mate.

Love springers, had one for 14 years and he worked from 8 weeks, when he started his training, right up into his 14th year. They're as bold and as loyal a/f and if any dog will get back to full fitness after something this, it'll be a springer. Love em.

  • OMG ! I can't imagine how you must feel tonight, LFH !

Bet you wish it was you that had this unfortunate accident and not one of your beloved dogs.

I know I'd be utterly in bits & inconsolable. Just do/drink/eat whatever might give you some comfort or indeed some temporary release from your angst.

Bless your heart and sending so many positive vibes & love in Bodie's direction.
    xx

Thank you - you are bang on the money with that link - however, that is only if you discover it before it ‘explodes’ - if they find it early, they put a screw through the ‘elbow’ - done job

Sadly, for Bodie, we didn’t see anything whatsoever - running around with his brother like mad things, loving life, and then ‘explosion’ - world turned on its head

His brother is so confused, bless him - if he could talk, he would say ‘where is my nemesis’ 😉

Hey ho - focus now is on Bodie recovery
Please don't beat yourself up on this, he was playing like he normally does.
Hopefully seeing you and his brother will lift his spirits and quicken his recovery.
  • Getting quite emotional reading your posts @Lordflashheart Here's hoping Bodie makes a full and speedy recovery.
