  • He's also the natural cover we have to Coventry. I know other players can play in the 6 but not with the the same style. I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere

Would be brilliant to see all 3 go permanently.  If TC is a genuine striker option , I guess we might see another striker leave too - either someone pays big for Leaburn or Kanu goes on loan .  Suspect Ness and maybe Taylor might go too
There be no strikers leaving , Leaburn not fit till October
Jesus, what was Leaburns injury? Basically 12 months out

Very severe hamstring tear. Required surgery.
I know our new fitness expert has done a lot of work on Miles' situation so hopefully it is a case that we're taking time to make sure that he is actually fully fit and it won't tear again as soon as he starts playing.

If any strikers leave its likely to be one or both out of Casey and Mbick, presumably on loan like Kanu last season.

    Fair - I didn’t know that

He looks really poor in that role though, hope we bring another holding midfielder in and then use Taylor as a backup for Docherty. Think he will be better in that role

No way Taylor goes, people seem to be basing that on him being fit at the end of the season but not featuring, something we could afford to do because we had so many midfielders at the time (remember Louie Watson, Camara and Fiorini not even getting in the squads) so we could make sure he didn't re-injure himself.

He's a set piece specialist and a box to box midfielder, very similar to Coventry and I expect them to compete for that role.
Would it have mattered if he reinjured himself given the season was about to end?

It would if it meant he missed pre-season

Could have said the same about any player.
  • Be glad when Richard Cawley comes back, Edmund Brack has never heard of us, by the look of cover he gives us 😠

Much riskier for someone just coming back from injury though

He probably just doesn't have the same contacts

Yeah I didn’t get it at all. Last game of the season and Florini, a player who definitely wouldn’t be here this season, started over him. Found it bizarre and personally I wouldn’t be surprised if he is loaned out for a few months, especially if we sign Bishop.

Can only imagine Fiorini had to make x appearances to preserve fees payable, less games and the fees increased. Only logical explanation. Also, there was no pressure to play Taylor having been out for so long. Now he is fit, hopefully we can gauge what impact he will have?

  • I'm worried about Leaburns injuries, quite a few already and still young. Similar size to Aneke and we know how that goes
  • Exactly how I feel.
Hopefully once fit he can remain fit.

Important to remember that his injury this time last season was caused by a pub-team defender, and then we were under pressure to get him back in because May was up front on his own. Aneke has always seemed to have a rather unusual body shape, although some people on here have reported he seems to have become trimmer. Either way, apart from height I don't see them as that similar.

Profile seems to be a freelance football journalist and currently Crystal Palace Editor for Vavel.com

I think he's pretty good on the SLP podcast to be fair. We aren't one of his teams so it's probably him spinning plates until Rich comes back

Will be interesting to see where he ends up

Evidently he has bulked up considerably during rehab.

    Auxerre is the favourite

Makes sense. I would think there’s a decent chance Bair speaks French.
