Good, I hope we don’t sell him. He was the only one in a suspect defence that looked like he was and could make the effort. With a better team he will shine. The joke club will be the one that gives up on him and watches another one benefit.5 -
Yes exactly Henry and Ronaldo should have stayed as wingers too imagine how good of a career they could have had if it wasn't for those meddlesome twits Ferguson and Wenger, and what about poor old Roberto Carlos moved to LB where he was devoid of glory when he should of stayed a winger under the tactical genius of Woy Hodgson.charltonbob said:
I don't get why Jones is trying to convert a winger into a striker (I don't see anyway that is going to work) when we had arguably the best striker in the division who Jones didn't fancy.alburyaddick said:Apart from T Campbell who Jones wants to play as a striker ( fair enough) we don’t have any width in the team - it was all too narrow and congested yesterday
it’s like watching England under Southgate. I think Jones tactic is to win 1-0 by boring thr opposition to death and sneaking a breakaway goal
When will these managers learn to stop being so tinkering and just accept a players position is their position, we should of made a 35 year old Johnnie Jackson stay on the wing. As for trying to improve our own players performance by tweaking their style/position to hopefully replace a player who wanted to leave and put in a transfer request ? forget that when we could of told Alfie sorry pal we know you want to leave but your staying here. Yeah Birmingham are going to give you more money than youve ever received on your last big contract of your career and your missus wants to be closer to her family since she obviously takes the lionshare of childcare responsibility but thats not are problem, put your boots on pal and fire us to another 16th placed finish.11 -
No point keeping a player Jones doesn’t rate. He’s only going to develop if he gets regular game time.letthegoodtimesroll said:oohaahmortimer said:

For me he’s not dominant enough to play in the middle of a back three and doesn’t offer enough on the ball to be one of the wider CBs. Zach Mitchell looks a better prospect for one of those roles.
If we switched to a back four I don’t see him being picked ahead of Jones, Alex Mitchell and a new CB, which I expect us to have by the time the window closes.2 -
this all begs the question why did we extend his contract if the manager doesnt like him ?Scoham said:

To get a small fee and a sell on clause in case he does make it10

Wouldnt we have a sell on fee anyway as he came through our academy ?sam3110 said:To get a small fee and a sell on clause in case he does make it0 -

Centre-back Lucas Ness had ankle surgery in the summer - minor issue that he'd been playing on with - and isn't fit yet.#cafc defender has transfer interest0 -

Are we signing Begovic or not ?0

I can't see why we're holding onto Isted when Jones don't fancy him, we should probably move him on under undisclosed terms if you ask meMacronate said:Has the Isted transfer even been confirmed?

Especially since his playing with an injury might explain the dip in performance last season. Still very young for a centre back.letthegoodtimesroll said:oohaahmortimer said:
