I don’t want to see it but I would have thought AMB would do better behind a better defensive structure than we’ve had probably since Powell .  Mannion has looked composed , but let’s be honest , he’s had nothing to do .

Window shuts Friday night, not much time left to get deals over the line.
as long as the transfer sheet is in by 11pm blah, blah, blah …..
Hope so, i've just been down Nisa for a Walkers Crisps 3 flavour multipack, a tin of Celebrations and two 2.5L bottles of own brand diet lemonade...

    (Other brands available)

No way Reed comes in as anything other than an academy keeper which is fine as we only have MacLorg in the U21s
I think Reid would be a step up on Mclorg. And Reid seems better than our current U21 keeper.

Mannion has not put a foot wrong.

I think Potts will sign at some point but as he’s a free agent doesn’t need to happen by Friday.

Birmingham have just signed Lyndon Dykes from QPR in a 3 year deal.

Does that mean Alfie May is available...😉

    Agree with this.

And with the goalkeeper situation, we’re at the point where we’ve exhausted all of our dozen odd proper targets already.

It would be silly to panic and get someone in as long term second choice that we didnt even consider before, that’s just wages we’ll have to shift off the books 12 months from now.

If NJ still wants a third senior keeper, I can see a short term deal for a free agent like we offered Lewis Ward and  Sam Walker last season. Like Potts, that kind of deal doesn’t need to be done before Friday.

Think we'll offer Potts something if we can't find better before Friday, you never know who might become available so it's worth waiting

I’ve always thought Dykes was crap. Maybe league 1 is his level

I wonder if we’re trying to sign Potts or whether we’re looking at other options for a LCB? Feels like the one position we could do with a proper alternative, along with a GK if the right player is available.

Plenty of times .. lot of players won’t become available until Friday afternoon

After years of transfer wilderness this current situation as many have said is nothing short of amazing... I've not seen this level of activity with actual decent players coming for 50 years.

Its clear Nathan has the backing of the board and is focused on getting us up and at the same time improve his own CV after the nightmare at Southampton.

Of course we will come a cropper in some games but the strength in depth in most areas should make the players work harder otherwise they should expect to be dropped.

I hope though we can offload a few players but I'm not sure about Kanu going off anywhere.... Taylor, Edna and Fraser certainly but not Kanu.

As for Potts the older coming yes, he will be great addition.

Haha, in this case I think that came from someone on another forum and Jones did make it clear over a month ago he’d like to sign Potts

With Johansson, Dovin and Zetterstrom all first choice at Championship clubs it seems like a bit of a trend for EFL clubs to go looking at the Scandinavian talent pool for goalkeepers.

It seems there is plenty of untapped talent in Northern Europe - would this be a pond worth fishing in before the deadline?

Yes I have heard good things about Ronnie Scwartz
  • Walton in goal for Ipswich tonight, think that ship might have sailed.

Always thought he'd stay as soon as Hdlaky left them, even if it ended up being as backup.

Was a bit of 2+2=5 with the Jones link too, I don't think he was ever a realistic option.

We won’t be getting a keeper  of that experience now Mannion has changed a few minds .. plus these sort of keepers will demand to be first choice and already Jones has pulled out of a deal because the team involved asked for that

We can’t be that wide apart - he isn’t earning anything at the moment - if we offer him £1 a week he will be better off!

This post makes me think a new goalie signing is imminent.

Hope it’s not 2/3 of Potts. He’s only about 5ft as it is.
  • Walton’s just let in a dodgy goal, against the Wombles, don’t want him anyway.

Is it just me who thinks of Gwyneth Paltrow every time Potts is mentioned. I know she's madder than a box of frogs and now sells vagina scented candles but at the time of the Iron Man films, my goodness Pepper Potts made an impression on me that apparently is indelible.

Oh, just me then, back to the transfer rumours....
