A little surprised how much this has upset me, have read several of his books and followed his diets and advice for several years now. His Just One Thing podcasts are a regular listen for my partner and I and he just came across as a genuinely lovely bloke, who would be fun to spend a few hours down the pub with. His enthusiasm for healthy living was infectious and has lead to me, amongst other things; balancing on one leg while cleaning my teeth and eating copious amounts of beetroot! I would really recommend these podcasts to anyone who hasn't yet come across them. I can't quite get my head around how and why he died, there just seems no sense in leaving his wife on a beach and walking off, on an arduous trail, with no phone, with no-one knowing where he was going. It's all so terribly sad and my heart goes out to his poor family and to everyone who knew and loved this endearing and well respected family man.
I think the implications are that he likely got lost on the trail, in itself going off for a wander on a coastal path while his wife fancies just staying on the beach isn't that weird.

It's just very sad that it appears to have gone so wrong.
  • So he got to the fence, maybe had enough energy to call out for help, but died there. And no one at the marina apparently searched the immediate surroundings during the search period. More to this methinks than 'natural causes'.
    Ermmm…….such as.🤔🫤
  • In hindsight there are a few things that could have been done differently.... but unfortunately he didn't.
I just wonder what day and time he arrived at this remote marina.  CcTv apparently shows this.  All very sad and unexpected.  🙏 RIP.

    From BBC News:

Dr Mosley's time of death was around 16:00 (14:00 BST) on Wednesday, the day he went missing.

The 67-year-old father-of-four was reported missing after he set off for a walk from Agios Nikolaos beach - near where he was staying on the northeast side of the island - at about 13:30 local time (11:30 BST) on Wednesday
  • 2½ hours in 40° heat, is a very long time for anyone, let alone a 67 year old, to be walking around. I know he had a brolly and I'm sure a man who earned his living extolling healthy diets would have made sure he had plenty of water, but it's still a very dehydrating trek. Mad dogs and Englishmen as they say. I just hope he enjoyed is walk and that the end where he was suffering from heat exhaustion wasn't too long. It must be incredibly tough on his family.

I've had sunstroke twice and it was very unpleasant- I steer well clear of high temperatures these days.
  • It's the lack of phone that is making people question things. It needs to be let go though. It's happened, it's sad, but lets leave it there.

Normally not that weird at all but I believe he told his wife he wasn't feeling too good. If I wasn't feeling well I don't think I'd be wanting to have a stroll in 40 degrees heat. Still, we'll never know the reason he did, very sad.

  • A third Cctv from the marina has been seen by mail online reporters according to what I read last night. They say it shows Dr Mosley coming down the hill then disappearing from sight probably fallen before he continues to his final spot. A customer at the marina was in view close to him but apparently did not see or hear him the reporter says.
The reporter then asks the question as to why the body wasnt found earlier as the area was meant to have been closely searched.

Personally I think questions should be asked however sad the matter in hand. The John Tossell case is unsolved so Greek authorities record is not good in missing persons.
