  • Something of an unsung hero of this campaign.  For sure he has benefited enormously from the protection offered by a superb back 5 and Conor C, but equally his calm presence has helped the defence and allowed it to avoid retreating to the 6 yard box
  • He’s grown massively over the season. Massive credit to him and Henderson. I wouldn’t be against signing a new keeper to replace him but if he’s on the team sheet first game of the season I won’t be scared either. He could do with a smidge of AMB’s bravery in one on one situations but not so much he keeps breaking his nose!
  • He's got better as the season has gone on. Yesterday his handling of all the late crosses was absolutely superb, and he has a supreme calmness about him.

AMB I'd say is a better shot stopper, but he's just too erratic, and I'm not confident in his ability to command his box and the defence like Mannion does.

Bring in a beast of a keeper and sell AMB for me, he's been a good servant to the club and has been here ages but I think it's best for all parties if he moves on.

  • He was so commanding in the air with his radar and hit terra firma quickly but managed to get his undercarriage down swiftly while waiting for clearance to release the ball. Stopped the crowd feeling any turbulance while Lloyd patted him on the head.

Will Mannion must be on Cloud Nine today.

  • I was very skeptical about our keepers going into this season. Didn't really rate either. But over this run in Mannion's command of his area and catches have been invaluable.

There are still questions over his shot stopping yes, but ultimately it's a team game and when your centre backs are set up to block 90% of shots then that becomes less of an issue.

Think he's fit in to the set up perfectly and saved me a good few heart palpitations yesterday.
  • I'm struggling to think of a keeper in our last 20 years who has commanded his box better.

He’s a modern keeper in that sense .  Not a great shot stopper though.  He will have a lot more to do next season.
  • Bit of an inspired signing as it turns out. Goalkeeper from Cambridge who wasn’t even their settled first choice. One of a long line in the last 12-18 months - that’s how you know things are turning.
I know you get fans of all clubs who'll provide both positive and negative things when you sign their players - But recall Cambridge fans only having good things to say about Mannion and weren't pleased themselves about his sporadic appearances.

It reminds me of the reaction on here to Ramsay as well, even Small, and is why I'm still happy to give the Recruitment team a lot of leeway (Yes someone got it wrong with Ahadme) over the background of any incomings this summer
  • I don’t see anything the lad has done wrong this season and he would rightly be disappointed to lose his place. I would be happy for him to keep the shirt next season

He was excellent yesterday and turned into prime Ben Amos. I still think the club will bring in a #1 in the summer.

It's Mannion shirt to lose. Great let's have strong competition but I really can't see who will come straight in as a number 1. We got promotion and 26 clean sheets which have been kept by mainly Mannion and several by AMB. If we can find a proven Championship keeper to push WM then bring it on.

We know Will Mannion will be busier next year as the strikers are obviously more clinical than the majority of League 1 strikers and midfielders will be dangerous as well.

When Ramsey, Jones and Macca play as the 3 CB it's always going to help a keeper. No coincidence that when Jones and Ramsey had an off day at Wrexham, Mannion also had a bad day.

It it ain't broke don't fix it and two midfielders are a priority for the Championship to play in front of Coventry. Berry and Docherty need to be pushed.
  • The cross he came and collected early in the first half set the tone and you could see his confidence grow from that. He knew he could claim everything. Great performance. I would add that neither keeper has done much wrong all season tbh, bar maybe a couple of "they would have been disappointed with" goals.

Ben Amos. Outstanding at taking crosses.

I don't have any problem with Mannion - think he's been good. You could also argue that he's been largely untested because he plays behind an incredible defensive unit and a side that defends its box so well.

I'd be surprised if they didn't bring in a first choice keeper because they were looking in the Summer even after Mannion was signed. We'll soon find out if NJ and PC think he's good enough for the Champ. Although I like practically all of our players, I think we can do better in a lot of positions.
  • Catching was faultless yesterday but not for me in the Championship , his decision making when the ball is a defence splitting pass isn't good enough in my eyes but who gives a fuck about what i think , i thought we'd lose 3-0 to wycombe away and 3-0 to orient
  • Edwards and Berry confirmed by Cawley too. Good, early start. Has to be promotion this year.
    Well, Jones delivered.
  • It must be difficult to prove you can pull off fantastic saves when 99% of the time the saves you are set to make come to nothing because Kayne Ramsay’s pulled off a block with his bionic left or right foot and Lloyd Jones heads away anything within a six mile radius and you’re left diving around chasing thin air.

Thought his dive when orient hit the crossbar was impressive. At the time I thought he got a hand to it and pushed it onto the bar but the replay seems to show he had it covered but never touched it as it was already going too high.

I think he’s done really well and has showed he has everything he needs to be even better.
