Charlton need decent LWB & LB if we are to stay up this season. If the club owners don’t back this, then all the work to get to this point will be wasted. This has been the position for many months. Losing Josh Edwards for season, without cover, will make things challenging.

I would rather hear from the club ASAP rather than this way IF TRUE.
Trouble is if it is true and it’s made public, it will be music to any other clubs ears that already know we are desperate for replacements, the prices will go up that little bit more.
If only we had prepared before this news comes out then we might not have to he held to random by other clubs. You know.....maybe a month or two ago when he was first injured..🤔
  • Dreadful news if true.

Do not players have regular scans during their recovery to check that the underlying issue has completely healed?

So aside from Kelman, every injury has broken down once again, Bell, Burke, now Edwards and then we had the mis diagnosis of Godden and Kelman?.
Something appears to not be right in the Medical room.
Coincidence that it all seems to have gone wrong following the exit of Dr Will Abbott?

You have no idea if we did prepare or not. Things change in football transfers all the time. Maybe we did have someone lined up ready for transfer window and now there club has changed mind or sent them somewhere else.

This constant line of suggesting the club/Jones/recruitment team are doing nothing is frustrating and boring. Obviously everyone involved in the club wants the best squad possible, so we stay in this league.

This is what happens when you don’t have suitable cover in place and you rush players back

Left back seems completely cursed for us. As soon as we find a good one they're either a loanee or if we find someone on a permanent they get some injury curse

Absolutely gutting if Josh is out for the season and we might have to go and get the chequebook out for a permanent.
The amazing thing about Josh is that he didn’t turn up with a reputation of getting injured… I think he maybe missed one game in three years for Dunfermline?

Unfortunately he missed eight games last season (miracle it was less than ten tbh given how bad the tackle was from Clare) and 19 and counting so far this season.

Just shit luck as you say.
Oh absolutely it's just shit luck. Josh came with a near perfect record and he's just been so unlucky, nothing we can really do about it.

Unfortunately ankles and knees are complicated joints. Heart goes out to Josh - frustrating enough for us and the club but desperate for him.

This is the same rumour that happened about Godden last month who now is playing. I’m calling bullshit.
  • Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s just a rumour, could just be absolute bollocks.
    Exactly Large...WIOTOS...🤷‍♂️
Except it probably won’t be, even if it is true.

He was in the Lyndon Dykes medical video looking happy in the gym, not struggling and about to go the surgeon again. Again, believe it when I see it

Yes, but he was in the gym, not on the pitch.

So was most of the squad
  • Those who Camp outside the West Stand, need their Binoculars ready for tomorrow night.
How does Edwards look when he shows up, as guess he'll be in the stands watching at the very least?

I think the only way to truly know will be if someone two foots him as he enters the players lounge, sure you might get a lifetime ban but it's the only true way to test his durability and put rumours to rest

Great player - our best in my opinion - and gutting if true. Bizarre that he's only picked up longer term injuries here. Well and truly Charltonised and something Jones and the club need to get on top of. It happens too often.

Spoke to him outside the West Stand before the game and he said it’s “not long” but has had a few minor setbacks in training. I asked whether he would be back for the Sheffield United game but he stopped short of answering after that!
Seems as though my conversation with him regarding “minor” setbacks probably meant they were contributing to something larger. What a shame if true.

The person who I saw post about Edwards, has Charlton connections and is more often right than wrong. Personally I expect it is true.

If only there was a way the club could update us on matters like these 🤔. Its a shame that NJ never talks to the media at all during the season 🤷‍♂️

If we're currently negotiating with other clubs for a replacement, NJ coming out in public saying Edwards is out for season and we are desperate isn't the smart way.
Exactly this what is us knowing going to do about his injury or help us in negotiating a better deal and not get ripped off from clubs knowing if he's injured.

I don’t think he does, he’s genuinely one of the stupidest people you’ll encounter

Do you ever post anything that doesn't have a 'the club are shite and don't know what they're doing, I know best' tone to it?

    You're so boring

NJ is bad enough for talking about injuries at the best of times , let alone when we're also negotiating to find a replacement. Even if someone asked him about it after tonight I doubt we'd get an answer

He dosn't talk about injuries because that info lets the next opposition manager take advantage of what some of our problems are.

Do you really think other clubs aren't already aware of our predicament?

The football world us a fairly small one and everyone will already know we are looking desperately for a left back.

I was referring to latest injuries not the ongoing old ones
