Ok. Weird though as we usually have one, even with the CC.
  • None inspire excitement or enthusiasm!
  • Didn't the last time we kicked off the season at Wigan they stuffed us 5-1 or summink.

    That's Division Three for you!
  • Looking forward to a visit to sunny Wigwam .. and we are on the telly ?

    Eggsactly.
  • The following games are on International Break Weeks

    Rotherham (home) 7th Sept
    Burton (away) 12th Oct
    Peterborough (home) 16th November
  • I believe international weekends are sept 7, oct 12, nov 16, march 22 so these games are in doubt. Were they to go ahead they would likely not be 3pm.

Could still be 3pm, no blackout over international windows usually
  • March 22 game is away to Peterborough, so both Perborough games could be moved to midweek

Hector, Thomas and presumably AMB leaving though, so might not be our end if they are off

Kanu, Anderson and Davies (if he joins) the possibles

A good excuse not to go to Wigan away, a dull away game.
Cracking first away game, great town centre for pubs in the sun and a walk to the staidum.
    The Anvil is a must.

And there is also the likelihood that the team we are due to play might have players on international duty
  • Wigan have been getting in prem loans I see.
As it is an away game first it isn't a must win, but it certainly is a must not lose.

We are playing established sides early in the season.
If we are very competitive and get decent points in the first six matches, then as a team we will establish credibility for ourselves.

Is Orient at home (our first home game) a must win?

Anderson - Kanu - Asiimwe could all be involved in World Cup Qualifiers for starters, as could Adam Davies if we sign him.

What a waste of a good away day !
  • Good grief. How depressing.

Probably 30 of our games are must wins if we're realistic about wanting promotion.

    Absolutely.
Can't have a must win game in the month of August - absurd.

I reckon 3 points won in a game in August are the same as 3 points won anytime.
I am looking for at least 92 points next season, and points dropped early puts us behind target.
Maybe there was a laissez faire attitude to getting points in early games last season, and look where we ended up.
  • Good fixtures imo because I always think it best to avoid the promoted teams in the first ten fixtures.
  • like most of us, we're enjoying the Euros, BUT can't wait for the real thing to get going again .. roll on August 10th

As long as we don't  adopt England's style of play. The west stand patrons will be asleep by half time.
  • When you see them all written down like that, it reminds you what a diabolical league this is. We've got to get out of it (and in the right direction...)
Omg.   Been obsessing about this fixture list.    And then I saw it.   :/

I can only get to one or two home and away games a year nowadays, but looking at that list, I really don't care where or who they are against.

Does that mean I should be optimistic or pessimistic for the season ahead...?

    COYA!     :)
