Average pay for the CEO of a championship club is apparently ~£295k:

We've managed without one so far, so I wonder what is the longest that could continue?

Indeed, there are roles and responsibilities in the organization. As long as someone is performing the role, and everyone in the organization understands that, the title is largely irrelevant.

Those are figures from a report in 2020. Bound to be considerably higher now. Very high compared to companies of a similar size in other industries.

Well we can’t have Rodwell, Warwick and a CEO and still hope to pay the advertised Commercial Partnerships Executive at  £28,500 a year can we 🤔😆😉

Especially when you consider that unlike in most other industries they don't have buck-stops- with -you responsibility for delivering on overall business profitability objectives.

Could always try to lure the Baroness over the water. Just the £1.47m a year salary to match

Always found it slightly amusing that Gold and Sullivan made much of the money they used to buy west ham in adult entertainment business and then they, and Brady proceeded to royally fuck over the taxpayer taking the Taxpayer Stadium off our hands and mostly being paid to do so.

A sort of adult poetry if you like.

In the directors meeting Carter said they were in the process of finalising a CEO wanted to keep it hush until they’re actually in the role didn’t want a Murphy repeat. CEO is only going to focus on business and financial side as well not the football aspect. Carter said himself he’s doing the responsibilities at present so technically it’s always been filled just not officially

I have never quite understood the amount of stick that Methven gets on here.
Sure he earned a nice few quid for his relatively short stay with us but compared to some of the absolute arseholes that we’ve had previously he really wasn’t that bad.
Let’s face it, he didn’t do anything grossly underhanded, as far as I know anyway and he never sought to openly trick or con anyone……us fans included, he was pretty open about where he was at and how it would end up.
Pink/terracota Chinos are another thing altogether.🤭

Not being as bad as others doesn't equal not being bad, that's a very low bar to set. A lot of the issues stem from him telling the investors he could cut costs and cut losses at the same time. It led to cheap hires like Holden and Appleton and poor players in the squad. That's before you get to the skeleton administrtive staff, jobs for mates (Appleton, Scott, Rodwell, Wawrick), apparent vanity projects (Mount Pleasant), large bar bills (just a more minor version of what Southall was doing really, using the club to get freebies). The one thing I'll credit him with was finding the owners but there are plenty of bother people who could have done that

I thought @airmanbrown told us that CM did not in fact find the investors?
