Wolves have been absolutely shafted by VAR in this match. 2 pretty clear penalties not given.
They are the only team who consistently get a raw deal from VAR. Some of the decisions last season were laughable. Albeit the first decision tonight was quite quickly followed by a Wolves goal so probably won’t have an impact on the outcome
O'Neil would be entitled to do a Graham Taylor style rant (like the one Taylor did after the Koeman Netherlands defeat) about VAR getting him the sack...
I thought the wolves player stood on the ball rather than was fouled
Seems a pretty clear foul to me and you can guarantee a big club would've got a penalty for it.
it is the other penalty shout I was referring to
the one they got away with against Newcastle the Monday before was even worse. Isak was about to nod in and the greek fella was literally piggy backing him and brought him down.
Well, I've slept off the haze of Neck Oil, Guinness and a sore throat...
Took the nephew to only his second game. Finally got his kit in the shop. Absolute bedlem first 10 minutes. His eyes were as wide as saucers in a sea of limbs around him at 2-0 and his smile was huge. 80 mins later, he looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp and wanted the ground to swallow him up. Welcome to Spurs young padawan...
A few observations...
Yes, we've got injuries and a massive suspension but its the bloody basics again. I'll cut Sarr some slack as he's young and never stops running but given his age and experience, what planet was Bissouma on for the first penalty. Ridiculous challenge.
I feel sorry for Ange but he's on thin ice now, make no mistake. There seems to be some blind loyalty amongst our fan base that seem to think he is the second coming of christ but he is far from that. He doesn't seem willing to learn from mistakes. He need to change that. Whether he'll be given time to learn, I'm not sure.
I stress I don't want him to go as we need some stability and I hope he can get it right but Levy has sacked managers for less. Our form is beyond dire and its worrying times.
Palmer was MOTM by a country mile.
In the corresponding fixture last season, Romero was sent off for winning the ball and then following through on to the shin of a Chelsea Player. Not sure who it was but they didn't win the ball and then went through the shin so that should have been a red from what I saw on the tv in the pub after. Kulu should have seen red too.
The only thing I haven't seen a replay of, in the build up to Chelsea's second, it looked like the ball has gone out for a throw, linesman was right on top of it and waved play on but from behind the goal it looked out and it indirectly led to their second goal. Did they show a replay on the tv and was it out?
And it didn't go unnoticed that whilst Bentancur was sitting out his 7 game suspension for racism, he who walks free Enzo Fernandes rocks up and scores the third.
Is this true? He seemed to be getting a lot of stick from the travelling fans at Bournemouth after the defeat last week.
As an outsider though i agree with you that you should keep him. Conte and Mourinho have failed and Nuno is showing with Forest that he is far from an idiot, so at what point do people finally wake up and realise the problems run far deeper than the manager.
Give him the money/players he needs to try and build something. Look at Arsenal, they finished 8th, 8th and 5th in Arteta's first 3 seasons.
In answer to this after the Rangers game last night, I thought I'd share the poll that old school SIMB (from the old net addicks days) done last night...
Small sample, granted, but think the tide has turned with any good will. I wont share some of the comments, they are just a bit too strong for here lol.
I feel for Ange, the injuries are killing us (having said that Gray done brilliantly at CB last night alongside Dragusin, yet again Porro at fault for not tracking his man, where have we seen that before!) but its absolutely brainless.
You may see in the press that Ange has gone after Werner quite publically. He's clearly not been playing well but put an arm round the fella, throwing him under the bus is not on. He's gone for the easy target rather than call out Sonny who has been proper piss poor all season and at times makes us look like we're playing with 10 men.
Lose on Sunday against Southampton and I think he's gone now, injuries or not. Ryan Mason as caretaker until the next one comes along. Rinse and repeat.
All i can say is Spence must be fucking terrible in training for Porro to continue playing every game. He costs you so many goals.
I don't really see what getting rid of Ange will achieve at this point, you then have to go again with another new manager who will want his own players. Personally if i was Levy i would give Ange a couple of signings he wants in January and see how he goes until the end of the season.

Timo Werner at 28 should be at his peak but he's a shadow of the player that I first noticed at Leipzig in 2016 and who over the next 4 years went on to score 78 goals in 127 apps. He scored for fun and his pace was such a big asset.
Reported 50 million transfer to moneybags Chelsea. Werner scored 10 in 56 apps but missed so many clear cut chances for Chelsea that his confidence just drained away.
24 goals in 57 app for Germany is decent but last cap was back in early 2023.
The Tottenham version of Werner is now as a wide player and 2 goal in 25 is testament to his drop off in his goal scoring.
Bring hooked in 45 minutes after a shocker of a 1st half make you wonder how a player can lose his mojo after such a successful 1st part of his career up until he was 24.

Dele Alli is another one!
Suspect Werner is confidence, Alli was a bit more laziness.
Forest then having had the goal ruled out, score one that stands within a minute. Martinez should've probably done better though, could've pushed it away but instead it looked like he tried to catch it and then spilled it in.
Comments
In fact the top clubs don’t even need contact.
I’ve seen them given penalties because there was intent to foul.

(I'm still Ange in for the record!)

Think its clear now the tide has turned in the support...
Werner was rubbish at Chelsea, and i'm not sure he did well for Spurs last year, so why did they decide to go back for him again in the summer?
He scored for fun and his pace was such a big asset.
