Given how he plays in such a mature way and that this is his 20th appearance of the season, it is incredible to think that Lewis-Skelly is just 18 years old
Said this after one of their games a few weeks ago, he's an unbelievable talent. Apparently he's a midfielder who's been moved to LB, but if he wants to stay as a LB then he's surely going to be in the England team soon.
What actually is wrong with City this year? Lack of hunger after winning everything? De Bryne reduced to a bit part hurting them?
No Rodri, aging team - Walker for one they let stay too long - poor succession planning last couple of years. No Plan B to Haaland scoring - letting Alvarez go without replacing him was daft.
Think City have gone one season too long with the reliance on the likes of KDB and Walker. Rodri is practically irreplaceable too. Will be interesting to see how Marmoush and the Uzbek CB do being thrown in.
They'll be back next season , probably with a large fine from the charges.

Everyone goes on about how Arsenal have gone the entire window without signing a striker but for me it's far more baffling that 33 days into the window City have not bought either a DM or a right back.
Their midfield is absolutely non-existent and if you're playing Nunes at right back then the squad planning has gone horribly wrong.
Unless Pep changes his entire style of play and conjures up some masterplan, Real Madrid are going to run all over them next week.
Bidding £70m for Guehi on the last day of the window? Knowing full well Palace have been playing with 3 CBs most of the season and they only actually have got 3 fit CBs and they've been trying to bring in another CB themselves.
As if they'd ever ever accept £55m up front and the rest in add ons? Even weirder when Newcastle had a £65-70m bid turned down in the summer.
Tomorrow we'll get the rinse and repeat excuse of 'its difficult', 'we tried' etc knowing full well half the fan base will fall for the same old shit every bloody season.

It's baffling how 5 of the Big 6 could have spent so much on players, yet not fixed obvious flaws with their teams.

Not that i want to defend Levy but the bid itself doesn't seem that silly. Yes Newcastle did have a 65m (it was 55m plus 10m add-ons) bid rejected in the summer, but we are now 6 months further on, and the bid is higher.
But more importantly, Guehi is out of contract in summer 2026, so you'd expect that as of now his value will only start to drop. Palace won't get 70m for him in the summer with just a year left on his deal.
What i do agree with is it's clearly not a serious bid. Why didn't they go for Guehi 1-2 weeks ago? If they want him so badly, will they go for him in the summer? I doubt it. So in that regard yes it's probably just to show the fans 'look we tried to spend money' but without actually ever really wanting to spend the money.

your last paragraph was a point I wanted to make... but my head was gone halfway through my rant, I missed that bit off lol
Meanwhile, we have made another signing on Deadline Day. Bloody Beyonce again!

I wonder if Pip is a wonderful manager when a team is on the up, Barcelona, Bayern, he was able to spend loads when coming to Citeeeee, perhaps he's not so adept at motivating a team on the decline
Chelsea v West Ham tonight but i'll be watching Middlesbrough v Sunderland which is live on itv4. Have a 0-0 double for both games among other combinations for a fun watch.

You've missed absolutetly nothing at Stamford Bridge. Dire game so far.
Clear foul on Bowen at the start of the move that led to Chelsea’s goal, but as it was “outside the attacking phase of play” or some such nonsense VAR doesn’t take it into account apparently. Utter bollocks.

Dragusin now confirmed out for the season with an ACL injury and rumours tonight that van der Venn has injured his hamstring AGAIN and needs an op, ruling him out for the season.
Interesting that Liverpool, the best team in the country and arguably in Europe at the moment, brought in one squad player (Chiesa) in the summer, and nobody this window.
Indeed, having sold a few players last summer, they could win the league while making a transfer profit for the season.

That would explain the £70m panic bid for Guehi!
