Softens the blow of May leaving, I guess.0

Saw him play a lot when at Ebbsfleet 2015/6 he was a good player at that level but I can't say I ever looked at him and thought "he'd do for us" so surprised he has had a career at championship level since then.It is also 8 years on so the signing timing wise just seems a bit odd. Not saying he can't do a job for us and think he will be a positive influence are the club but it just leaves me a bit meh.We have to replace Alfie with someone in their prime with a goal scoring record at this level simple.1

He sounds like one of our own from the interview, amazing that he has that history, excitement and familarity. I think he gets it2

Ahadme autocorrects on my WhatsApp to 'shame'. Godden autocorrects to 'golden'. I feel a bit happier now!2

Can't post a direct video on here, but a link to my tweet where I shared the clip:

Really nice touch, passes and off ball movement by Godden, looked really sharp.
Starts around 2:50 on the YT vid:https://youtu.be/aSFziW6kolQ?si=XvNjIKi8PXzkRrfu

Don't know what some of you all are expecting. 'Mostly been a blue all my life, love Millwall, spent load of time at Millwall and Xharlton when o was a kid on the bus. Been in sky blue for years, res's good too, always scored in an away kit. Looking forward to mumching Browines.Happy to be coming to Charlton as you've got a decent ground, better than the toolbox, and although i can't imagine getting a tune of most your lap blanket supporters, especially in the east stand, im going on decent money and NJ's god willing, a promotion'

One thing that’s caught my attention in two 45 minute halves is the amount of headers he wins. Very impressive for someone who you’d assume is just suited to playing off a target man for knockdowns.3

In the bits of him that I've seen, I don't think he's an off the shoulder of the last man run in behind type, at least not exclusively. I think he can link up play in addition to scoring goals. He's won some headers as Callum has said, and had some tidy touches. It's not a 1:1 replacement with May in terms of play style, although I would argue that May's best runs were when he started from deeper (especially playing as a 10 or from the right) and sort of out to in runs/runs in behind. When he played on the shoulder of the last man he wasn't as effective, despite his mobility. The timing, shape, and general efficiency of his runs in those scenarios always seemed off.0

I’m really interested to see how this one works out.
Im expecting that he’ll hit double figures, if he stays fit, but also has a massive influence and impact when he plays.
I , like many others on here, loved Yann to bits when he was here, in that promotion side of 2011/2012 season, but from what I remember, he only scored 13 league goals, but his impact and influence was huge, he gave his all, and bonded with the fans.
Keeping the ball up, at the other end of the pitch, winning headers and free kicks, defending corners, his influence on the side was massive, I hope Matt G can have the same impact for us, will watch his performances with much interest this season.

Hopefully with the likes of Godden and Ahadme (and Leaburn once he's fit) that won't be quite so prevalent. And if Jones can get the midfield competitive too even better, Docherty will help there but probably a bit more work needed.2 -
So is it tightness or is he actually injured?0

Will he make an appearance before his contract runs out?4

Having tight hamstrings at this stage or any for that matter doesn’t bode well. Hope he’s fully fit soon because we really do need him to be ready and firing very soon.0
